Antelope wins

I don't see them in the open division. They don't meet all criteria and really aren't at that level of play. Then again, who is with St Mary's in the mix.

Here we go talking about another team of who's better(St Mary's) now. Where's the Northbay Hater?

I'm 100% sure that even AZANNA would agree that SMS is better than Antelope. That's not a "hater" comment...that's just fact. 1 team is the best team in the country...the other is an excellent California D2 team with a chance of making a deep D2 norcal/state run. 2 completely different levels.

and for the record I never said Antelope was not a good team.....PLEASE show me where I ever said that. In fact I complimented the Johnson sisters and said I thought they were excellent players. I ripped Antelope for their wonderbread soft schedule....and that is FACT. They CLEARLY were/are a VERY good team....and I would have liked to see them challenge themselves a little more over the regular season rather than playing mush and winning every game by 30+..

the soft schedule CANNOT be disputed.

Congrats on getting to the section final. You have an excellent chance on making a deep run in the norcals...

Just to hear you say Antelope is an excellent D2 team had to be hard for you to say but I do agree Antelope is not ready for the #1 team in the country. People don't really understand what National good and Section good are. I would like to see Antelope get on the floor with SM "NEXT YEAR” but this year I would like them to take a journey in D2 and try to get to state. Beating Sac high last night was big for the program because Sac has been the consistent standard in the Sacramento region that Antelope had to surpass before anyone was going to take them serious. Chambers did a great job with the schedule even though you do not approve because Antelope’s goal this year was not to impress the old guys on this board in December at the West Coast Jamboree but to win a Section title which is within their hands but will be a tough hurdle with Vanden in the way, a game I do think Antelope can win but the truth be told the victory over Sac is even bigger than the Section title game on Saturday.

This is only Antelopes fifth year with seniors, One step at a time.

Well that may have been the thinking last night before the game. But to say that now seems to send the wrong message. I can believe a section title would be more important than a win in the NorCal tournament, but a section semi-final win is more important than a section title? Not buying that one.

Hell yea we want to win a section title but if you truly understood the weight that Sac carries in Sacramento than you would understand my meaning.

There are wins that are indeed more important than section title wins. Bentley has battled the Head-Royce bogeyman in all sports for years, and only now is overcoming the feeling that no matter what, Head-Royce will figure out a way to win.

And until Bentley, or any team, can feel confident against any team in its league, it won't be able to get too far in sectional playoffs.

I have not looked at the schedule close enough to really comment on soft or not but McClatchey. Was punished for a hard schedule. Antelope played it right, they are not in top 8 in Nor Cal and don't need to prove anything to anyone. They beat a well known and respected program that has seen better days but it is a signature win for them.

Hopefully they can finish the deal and claim a section title and if not make a run at state.
