Man up and play D1. Everyone knows you doctor your enrollment numbers to avoid playing DLS. You are the poor mans DLS and unfortunately your reputation is tarnished and will never be up to DLS standard.

Personally I'm sick of anything CVC, DLS or any other semi-pro teams. I prefer good old fashioned play with pretty much who lives in the neighborhood brand of high school football.

"Man up and play D1". Get out of here. They should play to their enrollment. You don't know whether they doctor their numbers or not. Frankly, who cares? Does it get annoying watching them get dinged left and right for rules violations? Absolutely. I see their names involved in something almost every week. But, that's up to NCS to sort out. By the way, the DLS name isn't exactly squeaky clean either for those outside of the cult.

You can keep your head in the sand but they kept their enrollment at or below 1999 for a reason. And that reason isn't academic.

Keep my head in the sand? I just don't care. I just think the idea that you're going to insult the practices of CVC and then boast about the "DLS standard" is hilarious.

Last time I checked, DLS plays to its potential and not down to beat up on bad teams. Also, when's the last time you heard of illegal practices and athletes getting felony robbery charges? Didn't think so

MtEdenHomer, this is a quote directly from the letter from NCS notifying CV of their probation. Apparently the NCS believes they manipulate their enrollment numbers...

"According to DVAL Commissioner Craig Lee, as Executive Director, you stated at least three times at a league meeting that the school’s enrollment would not go higher than 1,999 so that the school’s football program could stay in Division II. It is unclear how a school could make any enrollment decisions based on the athletic program, or a specific sport. As academic institutions the enrollment size of a school is the prerogative of the governing board and decisions that are based on the academic mission of the school. Such statements, if actually being considered, are disturbing and cause individuals who hear such comments to wonder what is driving the goals and objectives of the school."

Listen, I understand that there is proof now of CVC keeping their numbers down. Oh well. Not approving it. I just don't care. I just don't understand the "CVC is a poor man's DLS. You'll never live up to their standard." bit. DLS has recruited players before. I'm not going to get into an argument about it on here because we've all been around long enough to know how those conversations go. I just think it's hilarious to say things like that when no team in this area could live up to that standard. The line about guys from Clayton not being able to get in, but guys from Pitt who play football being admitted ... That's a joke, right? You think we don't know where Boss Tagoloa lived? Where did MJD grow up? Mike Bastianelli? The DLS tradition is full of PItt boys who went there to play ball. I'm a DLS fan. I love the way they play between the lines. They're full of fight and always execute soundly. That being said, I'm not going to be accused of putting my head in the sand when I'm surrounded by people denouncing one school for their out of city transfers and then boasting about another school that's the original free agency player.

Yes, and it's always followed by a request for....PROOF????

What's your point? DLS...like any other private school...doesn't have an enrollment boundary. My work buddy's relative, Tyler Manoa, lives in the Hayward area, yet he's attending St. Francis (MV) playing football. One hell of a lineman, but he wasn't approached by any coaching staff. He is getting financial aid to attend the school, but that's not a full-ride scholarship. He's there because SF has a pretty good academic program and a solid football program. He could have elsewhere in his home area, but his parents wanted something better for their kid.

Now if you're going to scream "Private Schools have such a huge, unfair advantage having 'unlimited' enrollment"...Look at the following football programs: Moreau (actually improving since last year, but pitiful in previous seasons), Riordan, & SHC.

I'm a DLS fan. I love the way they play between the lines. They're full of fight and always execute soundly. I haven't seen a known DLS-affiliated fan chime in saying that CVS is scum (for their enrollment practices). Where do you see the hypocrisy?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all of those individuals started at DLS their Freshman year. CVC's had an influx of Pitt football players transfering in while non-football playing locals have been passed by.

It has been proven by facts that Clayton residents have been passed up for those from Pitt. Yes, DLS has Pitt players. What division do they compete in? D1. It's like me starting a team full of 4 star recruits going up against 2 star recruits every year. Really... Concord high is your "toughest" competition? Pathetic imo.

It's even more lopsided than you're saying. You pretty much need to be getting recruited to be considered a two star. One star may be more accurate.

Hate to bring it up, but MtnJohn is a known DLS-affiliated fan who chimes in that CVS is scum quite often. I know most DLS diehards (along with most other posters) denounce pretty much all of his posts, but he is still considered to be DLS-affiliated.
