The Moreau Catholic-Cosumnes Oaks game had been scratched

Yeah. Could be Pondo first L which wouldn’t be the worse thing. Elk Grove is really sound. I’m going to try to go out and watch it.
Technically Pondo already has an L - they lost their foundation game to Union Mine in their own house. 78-73.

Updated schedule for today:
12.30 El Camino v Lincoln (Stockton)
2.00 Edison (Stockton) v Capital Christian
3.30 Elk Grove v Ponderosa
5.00 Weston Ranch v Sheldon

Looked like Lincoln was gonna totally boat-race El Camino early on, but the Eagles closed the first half with a 12-0 run to be down only 32-28 at the half.

El Camino lost a close one last night to CC. Its been years since they got that close to the Cougars. Good to see the program maturing.

Lincoln put the kibosh on that threat with a big 3rd quarter... 23-8 quarter, it's 53-36 to start the 4th.

One to watch in the future is Lincoln's 6'5" freshman Anthony Moore.

Just heard that El Camino is playing without their leading scorer... Looked him up, now I remember... Kiku Parker. Saw these guys at the Folsom tourney, it's all coming back to me. :)

Technically, foundation games don’t count on a team’s record, and coaches may coach differently in those contests.

Realistically, Union Mine beat them.

Byrd goes out with 22 points, Lincoln leads 75-43. about 2 minutes left.

Please. Foundation games mean nothing. Don’t even know if they had all starters.
Pondo beats that team by 30+ if they play today.

38-31 Edison after 3... Physical, fast ball game despite the low score. 14 missed FT's will do that.

CC has gotten it to 43-36, gotten stops, taken it down the floor three times... and NUTHIN.

Finally, CC gets within 4... 1:44 left after they get another stop... but turn it over. 45-41 Edison, 1:22 left. and CC is fouled... 1 and 1. First good, 2nd... Airball. 45-42. CC gets a steal... and charges! Press broken for an Edison layup, CC right back down with a score... 47-44. 52 seconds left... Edison on their own baseline.

Edison breaks the press, CC fouls. Edison makes 1 at the line... 48-44. CC drive, blocked out of bounds, ball to CC. Edison steals another... He's fouled, misses BOTH in the double bonus... CC gets off a 3... GOOD! 48-47. Foul, first FT goes... 2nd one also. 50-47, 10 seconds left... and an Edison guy takes a charge! Edison inbounder thhrows it off a defender's back and takes it himself... He's fouled, sinks a pair of FT's, 52-47 with 4 seconds left... Quite a finish... CC calls time-out to hunt for a 5-point play, in other words this baby is ovah!

Pondo starts off quick... 13-5 with under 3 left in the first q. They've nailed three triples already.

Pondo big man Aaron Bliss dings up ankle, goes out... 13-9 Pondo, 1:02 left in the 1st.

He didn't stay out long, though... Pondo took a time out while he recovered, and I think he was out for just one possession. But he doesn't look to be 100%. Still 13-9 at the end of the 1st q.

a little beyond halfway thru the 2nd... Pondo is up 27-15. Bliss appears to be just fine now. Now 29-15 after he jams one on the fast break, then serves up a Wilsonburger...

But the big guy gets his 2nd foul... He stays in. He is basically Pondo's only inside presence... But what a presence he is! I think he already has served back five shots. 29-15.

In addition to the big guy, they play terrific team defense, rarely out-of-position... And they are always on the move in the halfcourt offense, and they can hit shots.

To be fair, Elk Grove is playing without their starting center, 6'8" Dajon Lott.
