Bobbitt makes Castro Valley Hall of Fame

Came across this last week but former Castro Valley standout Roderick Bobbitt will make the city's Hall of Fame.

Him, along with Juan Anderson, helped lead Castro Valley to a NCS Division I title and NorCal runner-up finish. Those games against O'Dowd were excellent environments too.

Those were some great times. I want to say CV had 3 D1 players during that time. Bobbitt went on to be a stud at Univ of Hawaii and Anderson played his entire career at Marquette. Talent wise I think Bobbitt was a much better player and it showed in college.

My first thought was that Anderson had transferred from Marquette. I then Googled him and he did announce a transfer, but then changed him mind later and did play his entire career there. Chris Read was the 3rd stud, but he went on to play at Stanislaus St. rather than a D1 school.

That is correct observer. I think Anderson bit off a little more than he could chew at Marquette. His biggest weakness was his 3pt shot. He was a basically a wing but didn't have range out to 3. Nonetheless you don't see to many kids like him at the HS level around Norcal. Fun times watching those teams play. Bobbitt was a downright assassin at Hawaii. He was the man his senior year.

By the time Juan Anderson was a senior at Marquette, he was a full time starter in the Big East (he started 77 of 121 games for his career), has since then become an integral member of Mexico's national team and has carved out a very nice professional career in Mexico as well.... not bad for biting off more than you can chew....
