Its been awhile since Ive been on...did I miss the discussion about this?

Rancho and Marin Catholic have opted up to D2....why would Rancho do this? My guess is they wouldn't have if they new MC was opting up also.

and of course BOD thru Comp Equity is moved up to D2 and Campo to D1.

I had heard that Campo was going to try to go to court over the move preferring to stay in D2....is that true?

I'm good with Comp Equity and moving up.....but I think there should be a ceiling for teams.

D3 (Rancho, BOD, Campo) and D4(MC, CN) teams should NEVER have to go above D2.
Dominant D2 teams should be the only teams that get moved up into D1.

That makes for a solid, competitive D1 and D2 divisions.

I agree - Marin Catholic only has about 800 students so D3 was probably the right division and was highly competitive. I don't see the reason for moving up beyond wanting some new teams to play. CN would be the same scenario.

Despite accumulating the requisite number of points to move from D2 to D1, NCS has decided to allow Campolindo to remain in D2 for a third consecutive season before moving to D1 after the 2018 season.

IMO, public schools should be limited to a jump of one division only and private schools a limit of two.

Seems like NCS is being proactive in realigning D2 which was drastically out of whack competitively. BOD, Campo, RC and MC immediately change the climate of football in D2 in 2018. A recent surge from Granada and Livermore will help make the division more than just an afterthought come November.

Cardinal Newman will be borderline D5 this yr in enrollment...low 500s

The fire took its toll on the enrollment. Small frosh class...kids transferred immediately after. And kids will transfer after school yr as the campus wont be rebuilt/finished until summer 2019 (if it stays on schedule)

They have had low 30s...33/34 players the last couple of yrs on football team and wouldn't be surprised if that drops below 30.. if not this yr next.

at this point they should NEVER go above D3....at least until they get their enrollment back to 600 range. There are some stud seniors returning and some good underclassmen so their frontline players will be good. But ZERO depth.

Newman lost 2 really good college level QB's the last 2 season with Brookshire and Barrington moving on. Any early predictions on who they have to fill Beau's shoes next season? Totally agree Newman stays in D3.
