Bol Bol Transfers to Findlay Prep

This one has me scratching my head a bit as I don't think the Findlay Prep experience is much different from a schedule / exposure wise than Mater Dei. Also transferring on the eve of the basketball season opener is a little bit lame IMHO! These kids must be getting whiplash transferring from basketball factory to basketball factory......

As many have said, if you're good they will find you...I agree 100% with that statement. I also agree with Mikey that MD plays a National Schedule. Given this kid is 7'2, the only benefit I can see is the young man will now basically be getting ready for college/NBA a year earlier and working on his deficiencies 95% of the time with the other 5% on academics. IMO the only type of players that benefit from prep programs are the blue chip players. A marginal player is just wasting daddy's money

I don't think Findlay Prep players pay tuition

Nationally ranked PJ Fuller (who never played for MD but had transferred in from WA) also left MD in the past week or so... my guess is something we don't necessarily know about caused both to leave in their own separate ways... purely speculative but just seems like something is up...

Mater dei shouldn’t even play a CIF schedule. They are much closer to a Findlay or prolific prep than an actual high school team. Now they only have 8 d1 players instead of 10.

You may be correct about Findley but I am certain most prep schools charge the marginal/non-elite players tuition. Somebody has to carry the cost of the Josh Jackson's of the world

Makes no sense. Do you see Bol game transitioning to next level? I don't.

I'm talking about NBA sorry.
I don't see it. Please porzingas is so much more skilled than Bol especially on the offensive end. He's a longer version of Dirk. Thon Maker isn't exactly killing it. Very similar frames and styles. I'm not sold.

Bob33 brings up valid points. I was actually thinking of Thon Maker when I said one and done. He was a first round pick who played great in the playoffs last year for the Bucks. He hasn't really built off his playoff performance thus far this season but he showed promise and is what, 20 years old?

I believe he is a couple inches taller than Maker which makes a difference at that level

I think for the prep schools all the starters are "sponsored" & all the bench kids parents are paying full. As for Bol Bol 7'3 is unteachable. He will be in the league as long as his body holds up

Of course he will be in the league! But does anybody see stardom? That is good ? Bol Bol is 7'1-7"2 and Maker is about an inch shorter. Thon Maker also has much better ball skills than Bol. I could see Bol getting pushed around and prone to injury in the NBA. Guys with builds like that don't last long.
