CA getting in on the Section 7-style thing...

Definitely good to get an even like this in California for both boys and girls, but it has big shoes to fill to match the Arizona version. Does this dillute the Arizona event or just provides anotehr strong event?

Good question, Ankle…. I’d like to know that, too.
I attended last weekend and my impression is that it is a showcase event specifically tailored for colleges to recruit and for high schools to showcase their talent. I'm not sure every team went their with the same understanding, because some teams played it like a regular summer league game with a long bench (incoming 9th graders and rising JV players getting significant minutes), other teams had a short bench and played to win their bracket like regular season. Good teams and good talent. Different perspective verses AAU.

Okay…. but what is the organization, Section 7”? A section of the country? Something else? I think that’s what Ankle is looking for, and I’m curious, too.

what makes that different than any other high school tournament during the summer?

Will not be in Norcal since we don’t have any stadiums with domes

more likely to be a Socal event at Sofi Stadium.

Sofi is interesting because I don’t think it’s considered a fully enclosed indoor stadium. While it does have a roof, the stadium is open on the sides, so I think that would make it susceptible to rain (not sure). I suppose if it’s run in the summer, the risk of rain is pretty minimal - LOL

theGrounds is a great facility in Roseville (Placer County Fairgrounds), but at 12 courts max - not quite the size to accomodate.
