I would agree NB. In fact, I think CN is demonstrating how the open, in theory should work. Build a team, win a division title and then go for an open title. Unfortunately, it does not always work that way. However, CN delivered when they needed to because had they lost last year and now going to the open they might not have had an opportunity to win a state title.

I have seen them 2x this year and they are looking like a team that could make that open run, especially with injuries popping up as they have depth and do not rely on one player.

CN still shows they have trouble against quick teams. Case in point is their close victory over Eastside Prep and loss to St Mary's. The win over SHC was good. Salesian and BOD will present serious challenges come post season.

Cardinal Newman has Salesian tonight and Bishop O'Dowd on MLK day. Getting an opportunity to see them both before sections and the State tournament will only help them with preparation. It seems to me that most teams have trouble with St. Mary's Stockton but I could be wrong.
