Casey Taylor is out at Capital Christian

I was wondering how this pandemic might impact small privates. In some areas enrollment will be impacted at the privates and so this news may be a trend. Whatever school and program he goes to will be fortunate.

Not surprising. Too much drama at CC from AD and admin. Probably got sick of it and it came to a head......or the layoff was legit

Heard that he was out this morning from someone in the coaching circles. Same person also told me Stark was out at Inderkum. @mistark any truth to that?

Interesting. I was hearing things 3 weeks ago he was leaving, which is why I responded the way I did but doesn't mean that what I heard was legit, I just heard there was discontent and where it stemmed from, so the announcement came as no surprise.

Stark possible leaving Inderkum (which I hope is not true) would be a huge surprise.

Lot of movement this off season, nonetheless.

Yeah I agree but CC appears to have deep pockets from the church. However I don’t know how much offset the church gives the school. Tough loss for CC and I’m guessing from banter when he got the job that coaching/teaching anywhere else around these parts will come at a hit to his bank account. (Unless a Jesuit?)

Likely more about CC declining enrollment and $$ than a 2 week pandemic shutdown.

Hear all the time how Stark is best thing for the Indy kids, need more like him.

Could he go back to DO? He’d have easy shoes to fill.
He'd just put his old shoes back on and get down to business. From what is posted here, sounds like turmoil past few years he may need to clean up.

From the Sac Be article, it sounds like Casey got caught up in layoffs. It was an intereting run at Capital Christian.

I think a move back to DO makes a lot of sense. Only big job open and the history there (mostly good)

Man, I just commented how I felt CT wouldn’t be there much longer if all the rumors about the AD, boosters, transfers, etc were true. I surely didn’t think it’d be this soon though.

But, apparently, it wasn’t anything to do with any of that and was the decision of the school — not CT himself.

I realize people are really freaking out over this covid19 stuff but jeez ...

Yep.

Here’s a few excerpts from the article for those unable to access it.

One of the most accomplished coaches in all of Northern California from his tenure at Del Oro and Capital, Taylor was one of nine teachers/staffers laid off by Capital Christian on Tuesday, the grim news rooted in part to the spread of coronavirus, leading to shuttered classrooms, uncertainty when classes would resume and having the same concerns as other private schools across the state in terms of tuition assistance being cut or reduced. It has not helped that Capital Christian has seen a dip in enrollment in recent years, down to 388 this academic year.

Taylor said he was stunned by the news a week after his 50th birthday. But per his nature, Taylor remains optimistic. He will coach again, saying, “It’s what I do, and I feel that I’m on top of my game. I have a lot to give.”

Taylor added, “My family and I loved our experience at Capital. We’re proud of what we accomplished. We didn’t want to leave, and we were looking forward to this upcoming season. We will cherish the relations we made there. I’m excited to move on to the next chapter in my coaching career. The best is yet to come.”

Any chance CT could end up back at Del Oro? They coincidentally do have an opening at the moment, unless I missed something.

Don’t know if bridges were burned in either direction, but if not, it seems like a distinct possibility.

Also thinking Roseville could be a possible destination?

Pipe dream scenario: imagine if he was brought on to replace Coach AL at GHS ?!

I would think GHS or Indy would be a great fit for him football wise.
Antelope would also be a program he would elevate along with the Roseville District being the highest paying district in the region??
I wouldn't think Roseville High would be a good fit for him. Word is they want nothing to do with the SFL and he is a competitive coach.....
Del Oro idk....I thought Fasani wants in there but heard not as HC?
