Watched Stanley at St Mary's last year against DLS. Not impressed. Freak athlete but average hoop IQ and skills. A bunch of hs kids from DLS took him out of his game.
I was at that DLS game, too, and agree with you to a point... He definitely showed weaknesses there, but surrounded by that superteam at Sierra Canyon, he'll have a lot more room to operate.
And, of course, he will have had a year to grow and learn by next season.
But if you are a 5 star player I think at the HS level you should be able to score and dominate at will. I saw that with Jordan Brown at WC all year. I didn't see that in him. Stanley doesn't shoot it that well and didn't seem to have a great IQ Certainly didn't carry team on his back. Athleticism will take him far. He could develop into an elite defender however. And don't show me highlights in AAU or camps where nobody plays D. I want to see him play against defense like DLS. Except in college those kids will be 6"5-6"7 and athletically gifted. My standards are very high for 5 star kids. You should walk away with wow. I didn't.
