The Division II California Collegiate Athletic Association has canceled all sports through the entire 2020-21 academic year due to the pandemic.

On further review, what makes the CCAA decision so unsettling is that the main issue seems to be a lack of adequate testing (it's a budgetary concern). That's the same problem facing the state's preps. So if the Division II CCAA state colleges (which don't offer football anymore) can't proceed, how can the high schools?

Hopefully, there will be time to get the vaccine program(s) widespread enough so that at least the late-starting hoop season could get a shot at it (heh, pun not intended).

I'd guess that, even though nobody in any official capacity has said so, football and most (if not all) normally fall HS sports in CA are a goner.
