I am so proud these
Underdogs step up night
After night!!!
BOD are hearing what's
Happening!!!

I will post a video
For you to watch tonite....
I missed the game
I was training a SMS
Freshman

Just for the record, I was telling you all that SHC was going to be battle tested and ready for the playoffs long before ballersdream jumped on the band wagon. Thank you very much.

Irish pride baby.!...That Sophomore Thomas is just a baby for real. 14 years old.

So Pinewood stays in their division now to win their 100th div 5 title? I truly hope they go into the open and play SHC again. I can bet my last dollar Pinewood wont lose that game.
BD is right about these teams tanking. One team maybe, but three superior teams lose in the finals. I predicted Pinewood would lose by 2-6 points. Such a shame teams do this.

So who goes to the open? Will SHC be in with their record.

This has nothing to do about peaking at the right time. I always knew SHC was a good team. Someone mentioned they are one player away from being a championship team and I find this true. However, my concern is that a very good Pinewood will stay in D5 because they "controlled" their destiny to do so. The CIF should put Pinewood in the open regardless of their loss tonight.

So Pinewood couldn't make a basket the last 2 min? Wow, cant wait to watch the game.

Same thing happened last year in Milpitas
against the same SHC team....
Except that was the CCS semis...
I also am going to watch the replay

Pinewood controlled their destiny and they didn't do it, they missed shots, the SHC press started to bother them. Having said that, I can't argue if CIF puts them in the Open. SHC is not a player away from being a championship team, they are already there. To make some points, SHC including the boys' haven't been consistent all year. SHC Coleman was quiet as a mouse and so was Coloyan. They made some good defensive plays but were no offense to Pinewood. They definitely were not on, probably just being in another gym. One thing is for sure, SHC is scrappy and they found a way to win. Some players stepped up when they needed to and it was nice to see. The Soph Thomas who is only 14 came up big tonight and is the new face of the team going forward.

SHC played a brutal schedule to begin with since the beginning of the year. I'll take what someone else quoted, " I sure would not want to play SHC in the playoffs." SMS would be another great game to watch.

I disagree, Pinewood controlled their destiny. One point in the last 4 mins? I do agree with you that SHC is a good team, it will be great to see them play SMS again.

Southbay

I called this SHC would win the CCS open earlier when it started. And earlier in the said they was good but have up and down games. Their first win of the season was against Brookside by 4 point when McDonald got hurt with 5 minutes to go in the game. They was up and down all season but peaking at the right time. All Pinewood had to do when the got the rebound with 26 to go pull in out and run the cock out and win by one.

Yes it is that simple. That call basketball IQ right doesn't Pinewood coach teach that. Just be like your name be a fan and leave the Ballers to tell how the game is played.

Well I was there ballersdream, and it wasn't like you're saying at all. Pinewood had the ball with about 20 seconds left and the shot clock about to expire. Their PG drove the lane and her layup went in and out. A Pinewood post player got the rebound at the basket and tried for a put back which was blocked. SHC got the rebound and was fouled. Thomas hit both free throws which put SHC up by 1.

So if you're saying Pinewood tanked the game because a player tried to make a two foot put back in the heat of the moment instead of pulling the ball out, then you're an idiot. And if you think SHC would have just stood around for the last 20 seconds and let Pinewood run out the clock, then you're an idiot. On the other hand, if you had been at the game seeing both teams' players and coaches giving it their all and you came to the conclusion that Pinewood lost this game on purpose, then you're an idiot.

I guess it all makes sense after analyzing it -- you're an idiot.

Now if Pinewood had let many players, including some of their starters, sit on the bench for the entire game without playing, without offering any explanation for why they weren't playing, then I could see why people might come to the conclusion that they had tanked the game. Everyone playing for Brookside tonight?

More lies from ballersdreams ...

Do you detect a pattern here?

Is that the kind of person you want to be, ballersdreams?

BTW, I don't consider a 1-possession victory as establishing the superiority of the winning team. what impressed me was the parity of the top 4 teams in CCS. I've seen Pwood three times, and SHC once, and they both play like superb teams. in terms of a closely contested Open, the committee could worse than advancing all four semifinalists…and, to boot, you could see how many survive the first round to judge the proposition that CCS is overrated by the committee. Pwood and SHC looked awfully good to me. Hing got disrupted/dispossessed more often than I would have thought possible--SHC defense was just brutal. and SHC's center was a monster.

and, BD wants to be an unpleasant person who can't spell. a joy to us all.

edit: just remembered Mitty's one possession loss to ESCP. that indicates essential parity between the top 5….

Does anybody know if
The CIF makes phone calls
To coaches tonight?

Just a simple question
do you want to go into
The open... before they
Select the teams...

Based on the last few
Days just let the CIF
Know....if you don't
Want to go that is OK
Just tell the CIF before
They make a mistake

An interesting question: I think they should, really, but at the same time say "We're not saying that your answer will determine what happens -- we'll do what's best for the event -- but we would like to know."

It's looking like SHC's tough pre-season schedule is starting to pay off. They lost a couple close games but played tough teams and have been in just about every situation already and your starting to finish games. I don't think Coleman and Coloyan had bad games last night. They just didn't force the issue and played like a team by going to the mismatch which was Thomas. SHC has 4 players that can get you 20 on any given night. That on top of playing tough defense and a tough schedule will make them a contender when it's all said and done. With BOD and Brookside Christian losing it'll be interesting to see how the committee seeds the open and decides who's in the top 5. SHC deserves at least a 3 seed. And it looks like SI is going open as well.

I have seen 7 of the contenders play in the course of the last 5 days. I see them all a little differently than before. So much at this time of year depends on tenacity, particularly as expressed on defense and on the boards. And maybe the look in the players' eyes.

They are all excellent teams, but if I had a vote on selection for the Open Division right now I would say:

Sacred Heart - yes
St. Ignatius - no
Carondelet - no
Miramonte - yes
BOD - yes,
Pinewood - yes
ESCP - yes

Today will be interesting which teams go to the Norcal Open with the loses Friday and Saturday. 5 out the 8 teams everyone taught was going to the Open lost. So with that saying does the Open take 6 or 8 teams and which teams are in and out. SHC is in but what seed 3 or 4 ? Does Dublin get in with a close game with MM but the don't have no STATE Champions or Sections either ? What about Vanden that won their first Section this year do you strip them a chance to win State in their own division? Does Bradshaw get in with a win against Brookside ? I can go on and on but its up to CIF because wha u think usually don't happen. The question is do they put all the teams run from the open in the open????????????

ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWER TODAY AND NO MORE GUESSING ??????????

CIF makes mistakes???
