CCS Open - Menlo v Mitty / SI v Palo Alto

Mitty 40 Menlo 25 at half. Mitty too athletic especially Grigsby. Menlo only played six players in first half so I think they'll wear down in second half. Sapp hit two or three 3 pointers in first half.

First time seeing Joe Foley - dude has serious game but he'll have to play an incredible second half to get them back in it...

SF_Mikey - What's the word on Thomas Brown #12 for Menlo? A comment on Maxpreps says he didn't play in the first half. Injured? sick?

Mitty playing as well as I've seen them all year. Mitty leads 63-45 after third quarter. Menlo was down by 25 or so but closed quarter strong after Grigsby went to bench with fourth foul.

Menlo gets thoroughly dominated from start to finish. One of their starters was out (Brown) but I still think it’s 15 plus point spread even with him. Final 80-58

80-58 final. Grigsby with MONSTER game - best player by far on the court! Leading scorers Grigsby with 30 points while Foley had 17 for Menlo.

St Francis 53 - 39 over Sequoia.

Nice second quarter for Paly they lead 32-30 at half. #11 for Paly had a nice first half.

SI in trouble... being sloppy with the ball and lackadaisical Paly Up 10 42-32 3rd quarter with 515left

Paly run continue second half they lead 42-32. Combination of good shooting and sloppy play by SI which has plagued them all year.

Paly wins... First Public win in Open History... Coach Diepenbrock really fired up after final buzzer. They really outplayed SI and were very efficient offensively and tough defensively. Mitty will be a tough test for them in game 2. Congrats to Palo Alto!!

They'll be tough to beat if they shoot like they did tonight. Both Mitty and Paly played really well. Grigsby will be a tough matchup for Paly though - not sure they have anybody who can guard him.

I'm sure Coach Forslund's knowledge of the 'Cats played into Paly's decisive win.

I understand Mitty is good, but Menlo has been destroying teams all year. I guess strength of schedule really is important. A 7 seed beating a 2 seed. And not just beating them, but smashing them into submission. Honestly saw that score last night and was stunned.

Palo Alto beating SI, congrats to them!
