Just curious..... Basketball state championships are scheduled for June 18/19. School in EGUSD finishes May 27 and I’m sure most other districts also around this time.
If you are a Senior with a deal do you pack up and head for College or stick around for playoffs. Also will the college have a say if you play or not.

What obligation will the public schools or any school have to provide practice facilities and trainers. What about districts that rent the facilities for summer programs and camps...

It would be nice to know the rationale for the decision to play HS sports after the end of the school year....

Incoming college frosh come in usually late June at the earliest. I can’t see any college basketball coaches telling incoming recruits to not play 2-3 more weeks and try to win a state championship.

After the first weekend in June, I would think 95% of the high school gyms should be available as usual.

Maybe not. Public school officials, worried about liability, probably won't rent out facilities unless there are tough guarantees that a renter will abide by all of the strict pandemic rules and regulations in place for regular students and staff.

Most students don't leave that early for college. However I do wonder how this affects recruiting. Are players gonna have to make college decisions before the season and what about players still trying to get offers and need this season to prove themselves? Are there extended times from the NCAA?

Alot of recruiting especially with the mid major and lower level D1's in regards to recruiting and there budget cuts will revert back to the old days where they actually got video and info from the high school coach.

Anyone else noticed that SECTION playoffs end June 12. NORCALS this year either will involve far fewer teams, start Monday and have to end by Thursday. Sounds like at most 4 teams per division would be involved. Maybe something like play Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Also, have to allow for travel by So Cal teams. Maybe there won't be a Norcal/Socal tournament at all. Very interesting to say the least.

According to the SJS Norcal will be played on on the 14th,15th, 17th and 19th. So that means that there will be a good amount of teams but less time for turn around after a win.

There is no state championship for basketball next year. Saturday June 19th will be the Nor Ca and So Ca finals.
