Why is the CIF not doing the same thing... Essential staff and immediate family? Are the CIF and the schools that greedy
Pretty much, but they get no money without ticket sales. NCAA gets plenty for TV at least. So yes, I would say that money has something to do with it

I think the NCAA has to think about packed arenas which the State championship won't even be close to that. The first NCAA game isn't until the 19th I believe not this Saturday. Based on fan expectancy I think CIF has a chance to be played. The venue is already paid for and they do get TV money from cable. I watch the games on TV every year. Gate money probably only covers some of it.

NBA is a global sport so the circumstances for infection are constant. Players have friends and family flying in and fans from all over they are in contact with. We should have implemented a flying ban sooner and no fan contact sooner. Fans are too close to the court also in the NBA. They need to back that up further.
CIF may have to do with Juco did and limit it to teams and staff only

Wrote this on boys board, but this is the decision the CIF had to make even if it is a very difficult one.

That is probably next. Many conferences just cancelled their college conference tourneys and a few conference have cancelled spring sports indefinitely as well.
Besides the Boys Open Division, At the least, the teams that made it all the way to championship game can rightfully claim co-championship! Kind of like football in before BCS and Playoffs. All these kids and coaches worked their butts off. It's sad they can't finish it but safety first!

That is what it feels like to me but I can't call it. It does seem like people Hate Mitty for whatever reason.
Junior Colleges are canceling their playoffs also and that sucks as well. sucks for the kids and coaches.
I would absolutely be in favor of cancelling if Miramonte were in it. Of course, part of that is selfish because I've been there before, but even if this were my first trip, I'd still say this is the right call. If somebody's grandmother dies because the games were played, no banner would be worth it.
it's definitely tough for the kids and coaches for all brackets. We gotta get on our grind as a country and eradicate this virus.
