I would have gone to a scrimmage or game somewhere (maybe both), if the Camp Fire's smoke had chosen some other place to squat and allowed games to be played anywhere nearby... But here the smoke sat, and so did I. Sooo......
I spent an hour or so on MaxPreps trying to determine what teams might be at Sheldon for the Adidas Showcase on Jan. 19. I found no matchups, but did find fourteen teams with a "TBA @ Adidas Challenge". Here they are:
Sheldon (of course)
El Cerrito
Woodcreek
College Park
Inderkum
Capital Christian
Folsom
Sacramento
West Campus
Benicia
Liberty
SPSV
Dublin
Pleasant Valley
Interesting mix of teams there... Seven games' worth. I think they actually mustered up nine games there last year and wouldn't be surprised to see the same happen this year. My guess is that, again much like last year, matchups will be determined once the teams involved have played a few games and determined their ability level to some extent.
Okay, so that was one hour down, only 14 or so before I hit the sack...
So I tried to find some games on YouTube. Found a game from Georgia, nationally-ranked McEachern of Georgia. Looked good the first half, but learned a lesson in the 2nd half after they took their feet off the accelerator wayyyy too early and almost got surprised by Atlanta Westlake despite that team having lost its best player to injury in the first half.
Found a few other games of less interest... watched Georgetown this morning... Gonna watch the Warriors now... Getting stir crazy.
