I am in the gym, vax cards or recent neg test required, and evidence thoroughly checked at the door. Masks required, too…. Don’t know what number they’ll cap the attendance at, wild guess here is something like 500-ish. Have to use GoFan to buy the ticket in.

Okay, all the business stuff out of the way (unless an official at CVC corects me, which would be just fine if they did)…

To the games. According to Maxpreps, CVC’s frosh are 14-3 if I remember correctly…. Northgate’s records for frosh and JV are very incomplete, so I got nuthin’

Anyway, it’s 6-5 CVC late in the first quarter, but NG finishes the quarter with two buckets in a row, the last off a nice buzzer-beating fast break. 9-6 NG after one q.
 
17-15 CVC at the half; despite the low score, it’s been quite entertaining stuff for a frosh game.
 
CVC scores the last two buckets of the 3rd to make it 30-26, Uglies in front.
 
Broncos lose it on a live-ball turnover for an easy Eagles score…. But they come back and hit a corner 3! 43-42 Broncos,

CVC takes a long 3, no good…. Broncos on the break, layup…. 45-42. Fouled, too.. FT missed.

CVC calls time out, down 45-42. 9.7 seconds left.
 
Had to take a break to escape the NG standing rooters’ section…. 1:11 left in OT, NG sinks a pair of FT’s to go up. 49-47…

Then CVC throws it out of bounds…

Curry-style floater goes in for NG…. 51-47. CVC hs to foul…. NG hts a FT to go up by 5…. CVC foul after a miss…. This one belongs to NG.

54-49 final…. Main event coming right up…
 
GREAT pass to a cutting NG guy for a bucket… 2-0. CVC ties it up.

btw, Northgate has brought a large student groupl in here…. it is LOUD.

3-pointer for Nothgate… 5-2.
 
5:04 left…. I’m not catching player names, not-so-good mic in house.

Terrific driving layup for CVC…. 6-5 Eagles.

Excellent pass for a NG layup, 7-6 NG.

#0 hits a baseline runner for NG, then they get a stop…. 9-6. 1:11 left in the 1st.
 
Baseline inbound to Cook for 2…. 11-6.

Dargan tosses a 3 in from Mountain Mike’s Pizza!! But it’s matched on the other end…. 14-9, then a NG steal and score…. 16-9. Dargan with a 3 just ahead of the buzzer! 16-12 after a wild first quarter.
 
Power drive by CVC’s #14 for a bucket…. 16-14.

#24 for NG hits a long 3! 19-14.

5:41 left after a NG charge call on Cooke.

CVC #14 scores off a nifty dish…. 19-16.

Long 3 for Cooke! 22-16.

CVC hits a baseline J…. 22-18.

Dargan with a spectacular block, but he gets a foul call. FT’s missed.

Dargan hits a 3 with a hand in his face…. 22-21, and CVC gets a steal…. 3 minutes left.
 
CVC’s Moore gets a puback score…. 23-22 CVC.

#2 hits a NG 3! 25-23. CVC turnover…

CVC gets it back…. 1:20 left.

Dargan with a spectacular offensive rebound and putback! 25-all.

Wild scramble ends with a held ball…. CVC has the arrow. 31 seconds…

Offensive foul on CVC…. NG has a few seconds to get something going…. NICE pass to Cooke (I think)…. He hits the gimme…. 27-25 at the half, NG in front.

CVC’s #10 rattles home a 3…. 28-27 Eagles.

Cooke goes inside, fouled by Bamberger on a shot. FT’ssplit. 28 all.
 
NICE dish to #24 for NG, they lead 30-28.

Dargan with a pretty hesi move, floater to tie it.

NG hits one right back.32-30.

3:30 left…Dargan cans a long 2 to tie it yet again, at 32. 3:21 left…. NG has it t their own end. #21 hits a top-of-the-key 3! 35-32. CVC ties it right back up…

Dargan rebounds a miss…. Pass to #14, spinning drive for a layup. 37-35 CVC. They get a stop, and #14 hits a hook shot…. 39-35.

NG 3-ball clangs out of bounds.

1:26 left…

Dargan with a double-pump 3, no go…
54 seconds in the 3rd…. NG ball, time out.
 
Dargan with a steal at halfcourt, oes to the hole, is fouled! FT’s good. 41-35. 26 seconds now, Dargan gets his 3rd foul.
 
Drive from the win by NG’s #0, scores, fouled, but FT misses. 41-37.

CVC unable to score in the last few seconds…. 41-37 CVC after 3.
 
NG scores a 2 to start the 4th…. 41-39.

Pretty spin move and short J by Dargan.. 43-39.

Cooke hits a corner 3! 43-42 CVC.
 
5:21 left…. Scoring has gone dry a bit now.

NG #0 drives and scores…. 44-43 NG.

CVC’s #14 goes baseline to the hole, is fouled. sink 1 of 2. 44-all. Time out NG, 3:26 left.
 
Cooke takes a long 3…. Nuthin’ but net! CVC’s #14, who is just *everywhere* tonight, is fouled inside. He hit the bucket, and the FT. Tied at 47, 2:255 to go.
 
Steal by CVC’s #5! He races downcourt, but the ball is knocked away by the guyhe stole it from! Fantastic stuff….

CVC’s Moore takes a 3…. huge shot… it GOES! 50-47 CVC.

3 try to tie spins out…. CVC gets it down court and calls time out to see how to protect the 3-point lead. The Eagles have the rock, 1:07 left.
 
Dargan with an offensive foul…. hat’s not the way. NG ball. #24 hits a baseline runner to pull within 1! Time out, 50-49 CVC with the ball, 32.6 left.
 
Full court press put on, pass in to Dargan, it’s knocked away! Wild melee results in a held ball…. NG has the arrow. They are forced to call another tme out to avoid the 5-second call…. So…. 26.8 seconds left, NG has the ball on the baseline, down by 1.
 
NG try fails…. CVC rebounds…. Time out. And another time out when Dargan is cornered after expecting to get fouled…. Sharp play by Northgate to try for the 5-second, just didn’t quite work.
 
CVC has it still, 15.9 left…

NG immediately fouls #14 as soon as the ball gets to him. FT is GOOD! 51-49…. And he makes the 2nd. 52-49.

NOrthgate gets off a rather wild corner 3, doesn’t go…. Dargan gets the rebound, is fouled. FT goes, 2nd one also goes. 54-49, 2.5 seconds left, this baby is OVAH!

WHAT a ball game!
