Anybody going to see Newman vs HMB? 2 really good programs and it's a double header with girls playing after?
Some entertaining games on schedule for sure.

Keep us updated.

Newman wins by 1 according to CIF website.
Newman and St Mary's #3 time this year.
Liberty Ranch must play no D. That is a lot of points to give up in a playoff game.

I watched BOTH games....

BOYS....

HMB had big early lead (as much as 12) and led by 8 at half.. CN came out after halftime getting after it took the lead mid 3rd...and kept the lead the rest of the game never leading by more than 4 or 5 though. CN couldn't hit a FT coming down the stretch, missing both ends of 2 shot fouls on multiple occasions. Allowed HMB to get the ball back on missed FT with 5 sec left...HMB guard drove the length of the court with Wallace riding his hip the whole way. Got the shot off at the buzzer from about 15ft.....it went backboard.....front rim....back rim...front rim....bounced straight up.....front rim again and rolled out. Honestly I don't know how it didn't go in.....CN wins by 1...final

Refs whistle was EXTREMELY soft.....questionable fouls all night long....HMB had 2 starters foul out, including the league MVP.

#31 (Hilton) from HMB played like a man!!! I thought he was a beast!!!..... CN escapes with the win...and I mean ESCAPES!!!

for CN Botteri played very well and was their best player tonight.....Wallace and Rubintino played OK also....

Guru- Thanks for the assessment. Sounds like HMB was better than a lot of people expected. But St Mary's again? Really? Oh boy. Its hard beating a good team 3 times in a year. But I would rather be playing St Mary's than Capital Christian like MC has too. Newman will have to play better but does have a good chance getting back to the finals. 30 wins for legendary coach bonfigli. Might be the only team in Norcal with 30 wins right now...

How about them Newman girls? Wow… Anybody going to beat them guru?

Nice to see SMB return to there old ways. Great school and quality program. I like this Newman rivalry that is starting to become an annual thing. No predictions from the legend on this one. It will be a toss up but I think SMB plays better than they did in game 2. If Newman handles there press I like there chances.

Larrylegend...

CN girls got their hands full on tues vs Brookside Christian...BC has 3 D1 girls...and one being (in my opinion) the best guard in Nor Calif., Aarion Mcdonald.....it should be a battle.....no predictions here...

but this is the boys side....I need to stop before I get called out...lol....see you on the girls side....

North bay..... Good take on the game I'd say your spot on! With the foul count at 11-4 in the first half and then 24-11 at the buzzer that can some times be difficult to overcome. Not to mention that last play of the game..... Can't expect an official to make that call unless your Serra I guess....but that kid from CN should of put a shaddle on the Hmb kid he straight rode that boy!

Guru- Newman girls got in a bad bracket…. Read my thread. This to me is the champ game.

MC- Yeah capital christian is good. People forget they played in the open last year. They lost a lot of kids to college from that team however. They play in a poor league and quite frankly you guys have played a much better schedule. Its a home game for MC so that is a plus. I like your chances but it will be a battle. I think the winner of this game will rep the state in D4.

D4 in socal is going to be ugly for boys. They have a team down there Marantha that could beat most of our open schools.

Still a ways to go to get back to where they were, but trending in that direction.Hope they can keep going.Even back then, always saw CN and Marin Catholic in sections and NorCals.I see that hasnt changed.
