D5: Santa Clarita Christian vs. Argonaut

I’m hanging my NorCal hopes on the fact that Santa Clarita Christian somehow lost to El Cerrito by 15 back in December... and also on the fact I liked what I saw of Argonaut in games online.

Good up and down first quarter. Santa Clarita Christian leads Argonaut 17-13 end Q1. SCC shooting 50 percent. Argonaut at 60 percent

Impressed with the quickness of Argonaut. Both teams' offenses moving a step or two faster than opposing defenses

SCC leads 23-17 after scoring the last six points. Cardinals' height is allowing them to finish with ease at the rim

Small world... the above article mentions that Ty Penbethy of Santa Clarita is the son of former Laker Mike Penberthy... Mike’s father was coach for a few seasons at my school Berean Christian... and I saw baby Mike at Berean games... Interesting. Well, to me, maybe...

SCC never trails in beating Argonaut 78-66 for the D5 state title. Good showing for Argonaut, which got within eight in the fourth quarter.

Jordan Starr finsihed with 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

Adison Cramer led Argonaut with 29 points and 10 rebounds.
