Except Alhambra all dfal teams were big winners!

If u thought campo was going to be off, well they are off and running at 2-0 with a nice win over SI.

The two surprises are soon to be EBALers Dublin and DV both of which are 2-0 and both had good wins over American and Castro Valley respectively.

Dublin used a ground and pound running game mixed in with a short passing game to dominate. Wade finally realized that you change you tactics based on the talent you have and not based on what you like to do. The result is a 2-0 start . I would like to see some motion, tied in with some qb boot legs and reverses to the motion guy to keep the defense a little off balance and confuse them.

LL bounced back and won as did acalanes.
Miramonte also won and put up big numbers.

Tri-Valley.....Alhambra was terrorized by Rancho Cotate in all directions...There is something wrong in Bulldog land and it doesn't look good...Total lack of performance, its as if the team is running at half speed. As of now, I don't see Alhambra winning any league games and this coming Friday, they will struggle against Armijo of Fairfield and more of the same against Washington, College Park could be their only win,.

Someone is going to catch Campo this season. I would be surprised if Campo makes it through league unblemished. I saw both games and just like last season they played close in the first half and separated in the 2nd half. That approach wont work week in and week out (even though it did last season). It surely wont work against Napa. But, they are 2 and 0 so what do I know.

Sorry Bluedog, but have to agree to disagree or something. Alhambra will blow through Armijo and Washington no doubt. If they don't then I might as well give up on them as well. But it is week 2 and they played a very good team. We will see how they fair coming soon

Whats sad about the 55-19 beating Alhambra took from RC is the Bulldogs had 9-1 JV team moving up plus about 12 returning from the 2014 season and RC had about six returning plus a 5-5 JV team to draw from....And i really think this score shouldn't have happened....You are right, Alhambra will get by Armijo and Washington, but I think it will be close..this team has to wake up...Like I said, there is something wrong in the Bulldog camp

I wouldn't read too much into JV records when gauging Rancho. I don't think they focus so much on W's and L's at the lower levels than player development. I mean everyone wants to win on all levels but if you look back say the last 10 years the lower levels are probably sub .500 and the Varsity has a pretty good record over that time. This Rancho team has a legit offense. Rancho averaged 39 a game last season and they might eclipse that this season. They're also close to winning 30 in a row at home (don't mean to jinx it). Alhambra could very well have a quality season this year.

The DFAL will be a war this year. Dublin and DV are poised to reverse their fortunes. I see Las Lomas and Acalanes potentially dwelling near the bottom this year.

Slick58.....You know, what you say makes sense....In the games I've seen of RC, when the kids reach varsity, they are ready...good example was last Friday's 55-19 win over Alhambra....At bulldog land, the freshman and JV's come on strong, but when they reach Varsity they seem to die on the vine...this has been a trend for years....
