Miramonte 34, Acalanes 19, final

Alhambra 35, Dougherty Valley 7, final

Dublin 14, Las Lomas 7, final

Miramonte continues to roll but they will have two tough games remaining CAMPO - the defending champs and Dublin - the best defense in the DFAL (allowing an average of under 8 points per game).

Alhambra is sky high after the Dublin upset. Maybe they do some damage in the playoffs and silence the critics.

Dublin has a pretty good defense this year and need to continue to perfect their running game. I recommend running a lot of motion, throwing in some jet sweeps, boot legs and other misdirection plays. One more win and I think they get a decent seed and a winnable NCS playoff game.

Dublins D is Legit! That DC needs to call their offense too. That DV Dublin game will be interesting next week. DV looks a little bi-polar week to week.. Dubs D and O seems to be consistent with scores. The winner of that game will get an 11 or 12 seed probably.

What is going on with Alhambra????......They get bombed by acalanes 34-13, then Dublin shuts out acalanes 17-0, followed by Dougherty Valley running over Acalanes 34-7 while Alhambra edges Dublin 14-13 and then follows up with a 35-7 win over Dougherty Valley...another day at the football field...there must be something in the water at Martinez to all of a sudden seeing the Bulldogs come to life...Now the question is, can Alhambra get by Las Lomas??? which would give them a 6-4 record..

The only thing consistent about the DFAL this year is Miramonte, Campo and Dublin's defense.

Miramonte vs. Campo will be the game of the week. The winner will have to score 50 to win that game.

Dublin vs. DV will be a classic. Two running teams that will stack the box and hate each other. Throw in a full house on both sides and we have something. Defense will win this game.

I would be surprised if DV scores a TD on Dublin to be honest. Alhambra could of scored over 40, but due to missed opportunities only had 35. Alhambra's defense has came to play the last two games and its a refreshing change to see. Alhambra is trying to get themselves a home playoff game next week after they clinched yesterday.

Alhambra appears to be good against the run, hopefully they draw a running team in NCS. DV and Dublin run the ball and Alhambra matched up well.

They match up well against stout teams, not so well against teams that air it out. Surprisingly improved in that area too but we will see in NCS. Dublin should run over DV

Gutsy performance by LL against Dublin. Shutting out Dublin for the first 3 quarters and running effectively against a very good Dublin defense is something for the Knights to build on.

Not sure if the current administration at Las Lomas has the desire to see the LL football program become strong again but I liked what I saw Friday night against a very sound and well-coached Gaels team.

Old Blue- sometimes it takes just one player to get things fired up. Back in '08 Diante Jackson was the best player on the field. Pullman for one year then fizzled. LL beat WCAL/SJS teams. The year before went 12-1, with the lone loss in NCS. It does take what many call the four pillars: Athletes/Families/Admins/Coaches.
