DLS-Foothill Game Cancelled

This is Foothill’s worst team in decades. They were pretty lucky to get their lone win against cross town rival AV. In reality, it was going to be a bloodbath. I was surprised Foothill was even on the DLS schedule this year. Cal would have been a more competitive league game. This is the first season since DLS joined the EBAL that they haven’t played Cal, while all the other EBAL schools had opted out in down years.

That's interesting - according the El Cerrito schedule, they were playing Hercules this weekend. However an Merc article this afternoon states that the 1-6 Hercules team called off their game freeing up the Gauchos to play DLS. Great to see El Cerrito step up!
This is a huge step up in competition for El Cerrito who is building quite the small school program. They do scrimmage De La Salle and Pittsburg every year but this is the real deal hopefully they can keep it within 3 scores but this game should prepare them for the post season.

I thought they were down to 25-27 players. If they have 25 unavailable players, that's completely different.
