Dublin frosh won by 20...

The Varsity game is interesting in that these teams have both already won their division titles and will face each other Saturday in the league championship game. Dunno where, or whether the result of this game will have a hand in determining said Saturday locale. I hope to find that out before the evening’s over...

Regardless of just how much or little this game means in the scheme of things, the two rivals are both top-5 in the section and top-30 in the state. Should be a battle royale!

71-56 final... Another “coach’s kid” on the horizon... Dublin’s varsity coach has a kid of his on the varsity, and he does *all* the “coach’s kid” smart-play stuff... Well, his younger brother just scored 20 for Dublin’s JV. Plays the same way, all the smart “glue guy” stuff.

Just found out (Thanks, Ethan!) that tonight’s game does not determine home-court for Saturday Championship game. It will be at DV, no matter what.

6th-man sections are both louder than h-e- double hockey sticks...

Costello sinks a 3... and Robby Beasley appears hurt, comes out. 5-1 Dublin, 5:52 left.

Dublin #24 drives, miss, putback,,, 7-2.

The younger Beasley scores, hacked... FT goes. 10-5.

Strong drive by Dublin #14, fouled. FT’s split. 12-5.

Great shot by a Sevilla.... 12-7. Dublin right back with a 3, but DV answers... Now 14-9 Dublin. 3:15 left 1st.

Dublin #14 Alonso drives, fouled... FT’s good. 16-9.

16-11 now... Dublin ball.... things getting fast for these fingers... 2:08 left 1st.

Nice backcut by Costello, reverse layup... 18-11.

FANTASTIC rebound and putback by Dublin #24... And then there’s a steal... and Costello scores... 22-11, suddenly it’s in danger of getting away from DV.

Just heard announcement... Saturday’s game at DV will be at 4pm. Good thing to know.

NASTY swat by DV #40 sends the rock out of bounds like a rocket... quite impressive! But #24 Jackson scores on the inbounds... and next time down, he gets to the line again... FT’s go. 27-13. 6:42 left 2nd.

Wow, it’s reallly getting away now... 29-13 after a corner 3 by Jackson... DV fouled, 1 and 1... makes one, misses one. But another foul on Dublin... Front end missed. They realllllllyyyy need those.

Corner 3 by Dublin... DV miss, Dublin drive, foul. Time out before FT’s. 32-14, 5:19 left. FT’s go. 34-14... Without Robby, I’d say DV’s only chance is hitting a zillion 3’s now... Bus driver has already asked if he should go out and start getting it warmed up... Not yet, my man... But maybe soon...

DV with a FT and steal and layup... 34-17.

#14 Alonso nails a Dublin 3... 37-17.

#2 Sevilla nails a DV 3... 37-20, then a steal by Costello leads to another Dublin score... 39-20.

Beasley the Younger drives, fouled for 2 FT’s... Both go. 39-22.

Alonso again with a Dublin 3! 42-22... Driver starting to get his gloves on, it’s cold out there...

BTW, no sign of Robby Beasley on the floor since his injury, but I can’t see the bench from where I am.

#2 Sevilla nails a 3-bounce 3... Turnover, then DV fouled, at line for 2. FT’s split. And that’s the half... 43-27, Dublin large and in charge.

Dublin starts off the 2nd half with a drive and score by Alonso, but DV answers... DV gets a stop, but Dublin steals and #13 jams it home... and gets a hanging-on-the-rim T. DV FT’s go. 47-31. DV ball... btw, no Robby... Dublin SWAT and a Dublin jumper goes... 49-31.

Nice fast break for 2 by Dublin... STEAL AND DUNK by Dublin... 53-31, and this one is ovah early in the 3rd!

DV sinks a 3... 55-38, time out with 2:41 left.

I’d say it’s mostly damage control to prepare for Saturday now for DV... But they drive and score again, and get a steal and fast break layup... 55-42. Maybe thing thatng ain’t over after all...
