Dublin v. Cal Hi

My orig. plan was DV at Granada, but I couldn’t land a ticket…

So, I am hanging out at Dublin, tripleheader v. Cal Hi. Right now, the frosh game has Dublin in front, 11-10 late in the first quarter…. Enogh about that for now, the varsity game is the one people care about…

Dublin varsity is 13-6, ranked #12 in the north coast section, and the Cal Hi varsity is 14-5, rakned #11 in said section.

Meanwhile, the Dublin frosh scored 10 points in under a minute to end the quarter with a flourish, 21-10.

Looking at the records of both JV teams, I expect a tough battle there, as well as for the varsity game.

Never saw a Granada link online at GoFan, dunno whether that means it was sold out or what…. So I decided to take an alternate choice, which should be really good anyway.

I’m also trying to get a ticket for Friday’s Dublin-DLS game, not getting a link yet…
 
48-38 Dublin after 3 quarters…. Calhi has gotten within 8 a couple times, but has been unable to pull closer.
 
So…. Varsity comin’ up…

CalHi and Dublin are tied with Dougherty Valley at the top of the EBAL standings, at 2-0

Dublin clocked Livermore by 50 or so, and then beat Monte Vista 63-46.

CalHi blasted Amador Valley by 33, then nipped SRV 62-58.
 
With this league’s teams playing each other only once, every game is vital, or at least would be in the old-school mentality…. Remember when winning league was nearly as inportant as winning at least a few playoff games? It really used to be that way, honest…

Still, old school or new school or no school, every game means a lot.

A little disappointing turnout…. 2 minutes till game time, gym not even close to a quarter full…
 
First quarter ends 17-16 Dublin. Cooks has 9 for the Gaels.

#3 Amari Grey has 8 for the Grizzlies.
 
Courtney Anderson Jr with a slam on a runout…

19-16.

Anderson steals, goes all the way, score, and 1…. FT good, 22-16 Gaels.
 
4:54 left in the half…

Stokes with a finish off an Anderson pass, 24-16.

CalHi turnover, getting dangerous for the Griz.
 
Anderon nails a 3…. 27-16, finally CalHi gets back on the board, Adam Zalmai, and a FT…. 27-19…

Stokes hits one FT, misses next, but Mehki Thomas beats everybody to the ball, puts it back…. 30-19 Dublin.
 
Stokes with a nice half-hook after a great Cooks pass…. Dublin is looking wayy too athletic for the Griz.
 
CalHi says, “not so fast…”. Shoots their way right back into it, with a Zalmai 3 and several freet throws…. 34-30 Dublin at the half.
 
Zalmai leads the Grizzlies with 13, Anderson has 10 for the Gaels.

Gaels open the scoring in the 3rd with a lob pass to Filipovas for a layup, then a steal and pass to Cooks for a layup…. 38-30, Griz quickly call time with not even a minute gone in the 3rd.
 
Grey with a nice move for a Griz score, but Stokes puts a rebound back in for the Gaels…. 40-32.

Zalmai with a long 2…. 40-35, Gaels still on the lead.

whatta move by Gray for a score, but Dublin races right back and Thomas gets a bucket…. 42-37.

Offensive rebound for a Griz score…. 42-39.

Anderson fouled, hits a wild shot, and 1…. FT nope, lane violation. 44-39 Gaels.

Thomas nails a 3…. 47-39.

Gray drives and scores, fouled by Thomas’s 3rd foul…. FT good. 47-42 Gaels.

INside move for a score by Griz #33, but Filapovas scores right back…. 49-44 Gaels.

Kellen Torrey hits a Griz 3, but Thomas with a steal and driving layup…

Griz steal by Ethan Browne! Layup pulls ‘em to 51-49…. Time out, 1:36 left 3rd.
 
Anderson puts back a Cooks miss, 53-49.

Gray gets inside, fouled…. FT’s good…. 53-51 Gaels.

Under a minute…

Anderson fires an airball, but somehow gets the rebound and is fouled on the putback try. FT’s both good. 55-51 Gaels. 36 seconds…

Zalmai gets inside, miss, rebound, miss again, but fouled, 2 shots…. Both good. 55-53 Gaels.

LOTS of action under the bucket as the Gaels try to score before the buzzer, but nope…. 55-53 Gaels after 3 quarters.
 
Just another night in the EBAL…

Cooks goes the length of the floor, scores off a rebound…. 57-53 Gaels.

GREAT spinning shot by Cooks, but the Griz answer…. 59-55. Gaels get a bucket, Stokes, I think…. 61-55.

Zalmai 3 try bounces out…. Cooks fouled underneath, scores…. FT good. 64-55.

Anderson with a high-flying attempt at a swat, but fouls Gray…. FT’s split. 64-56 Gaels.

Gray with a fantastic sway of Anderson, but Gaels grab the losse ball and put ‘er back in. 66-56. 4:28 left.

Foul, one FT made by the Griz…. 66-57.

Thomas fouled, FT’s both good…. 68-57, Griz need a miracle now.

Thomas fouled, FT’s both good…. 70-57.

3-ball good for the Griz…. 70-60.

Stokes gets a nice pass, scores inside…. 72-60, 2:35 left, time out.
 
Stokes, Cooks and Anderson have combined for I think 58 points…. and Thomas has added 8.

74-62, 1:34 left….
 
Gaels burn a good bit of clock, then turn it over…. But the Griz give it back, this baby’s over.

Granada games are now on an APP called TicketSpicket now. Now sure why they changed. But they were at MV Tuesday

Yeah, I typed in the wrong Granada matchup here, but when I tried, I was looking for the correct game...

Also found out about SpicketTicket, but the game wasn't available there, either, at least not when I looked.

They had the schedule goofed up the past 2 Tuesdays. They sold tickets for an away game v Foothill and didn’t have the MV home game.
