MC pressure giving Mitty fits. 2 big 3's by Idehen. If he can extend floor like that he will be effective At next level.

Wow!! MC athletic press too much for Mitty to handle right now. MC up 41-38 with 2:35 left. MC has really ignited.

This feels like a NorCal final.
51-49 Mitty with a minute left in Ot. Very impressed with both teams.

MC wins an absolute great HS game.
57-54. MC pressure is legit. No Christian Ellis either.

Cathedral Cath leads Jesuit 18-14 after 1. I personally think Mitty and Modesto Christian better than both of these teams. The 7ft kid McCoy has NBA body. Made some nice plays but his conditioning looks a little weak. Hasn't been in as many plays as he should.

30-21 cathedral carholic at half.
McCoy is pretty dang good for a hs 7ft. Can shoot and is good around basket. He came alive. Probably has 12 and 8 at half.

Jake virga a soph for Jesuit looks good. Jesuit has a nice team. They will be a tough out.

Duffy for Jesuit heating up a little. Kid can really knock it down when he sets his feet.

42-35 CC late in 3rd.

47-35 CC after 3. Solid team.
McCoy is going to be in the league in a few years. Scary athletic and talent.

LL YOU ARE TRIPPING. HE IS TALL, BUT DEFINETELY NOT ALL THAT. NO MOTOR,,, HE SHOULD BE DOMINATING THIS GAME

He's 7ft and jr and he's long. His conditioning looks suspect as I stated. Teammates are horrible passers. Jesuit battling.

53-51 CC with 3:35. McCoy should be altering more shots. I agree with you.
I still bet he ends with 20+ and 10+ boards.

Jesuit showing a ton of heart and effort.
60-56 lead over CC with 17 left. Free throws death of CC.

60-57 !! Great win for marauders. I got my money worth! Jesuit has a very solid team. Modesto athleticism could bother them. We shall see.

Sounds great to me... I'm headed there tomorrow, all four games... Will be 6-8 rows up, scorers table side, somewhere near center court.

Kiddman32- I can't come today. bummer. The last 2 games are going to be really good. Mitty should handle Cathedral Catholic and I don't think Jesuit has enough in the tank to beat Modesto Christian. But I wouldn't totally count the marauders out. For early season hoops the play was outstanding. It could have easily been Mitty vs Cathedral for the championship.

So far, the left-side bracet games haven't been too bad... Not a ton of talent, but the teams look at least okay...

St Paul's took the 7th-place game by about 10. St. Mary's obviously lost a ton to graduation, but they play hard. If last year's fine collection of talent had played this hard, they might have done better in their tough games.

SI was up 13 at half, but a tremendous Christian Brothers run tied the score at 48. 3rd Q end with SI up 50-48.

SI got it back together and took an 8-point lead with 4 minutes left, and Christian Brothers couldn't recover. 71-64 final.

Fastening seatbelts for Cathedral and 7- foot stud Brandon McCoy take on Mitty...

Kone should eat up McCoy. McCoy will not play perimeter D and is slow to help on the drive. Very bad conditioning. CC coach has him standing at the top of the key resting on Offense. With different coach I think he could excel, but I don't think he is anywhere close at this point in his young career to local bigs who came out of Nor Cal recently,,, Rabb, Lee

Cathedral bein' scrappy and fighting their way back in, mostly not due to the big guy... 30-21 at the half, Mitty leads.

McCoy looks a bit overwhelmed by Mitty's size and teamwork... And Kone, too. Still, McCoy is just a junior, a legit 7-footer with some skills... Just the kind of "project" that any D1 coach would love to have.

McCoy has played bigger in the 3rd quarter, but Mitty holding on. With McCoy out for a blow, Kone scores a couple quick inside buckets and Mitty pulls away again, 39-29.

Big flurry at the end of the period... Period ends with a halfcourt bomb by Cathedral. 45-37 going into 4th..

Mitty hangs on, 66-59. I don't have access to stats or anything, but a combination of gameplanning, Kone and foul trouble limited McCoy to about 8 points, while Kone scored about 30.

Kone did, however, make a key turnover while trying (for some reason) to dribble it up against pressure late in the game... Gave Cathedral a fastbreak dunk to pull within 4, 30 seconds to go.

Big finals next! Host team trying to win their own tourney vs. a loaded Modesto Christian bunch.

MC totally destroyed 'em in a 2nd quarter that looked like one of those mixtapes with dunks and swats all over... 31-12 now...

The highlight for Jesuit is their student rooting section, loud and boistrous... And hilarious with their version of the Curtain Of Distraction deal.

If MC can play this well consistently, they will be a load in the playoffs... Damn. Just.... Damn.

Ellis just went legend on three consecutive amazing drives to the bucket... 43-17.

58-38 final... I'd say MC is a lock to be in the Open. Best-looking overall team for MC since I moved back to CA in summer 2012.

He uses alot of player control with his off hand showing a preference to go left; not can't go right. But at the same time still can't be defended once he arrives at the basket...reminiscent of how Isaiah Bailey use to manhandle defenders. So a little bit of get back. Highly entertaining team all around.

Like I said MC is just way to athletic for Jesuit. The 2 best teams played in that semi (Mitty and MC).
