Folsom prevails in thriller

Folsom escapes 53-47 over a gutsy Oak Ridge team. Folsom didn't take the lead until the 3rd qtr and it was tied 44-44 with only a couple minutes to play before Folsom took over.
OR came out in a zone and it really bothered Folsom. Folsom was down 11-2 after 1. Yes, 2 pts int he first qtr. All my years watching Folsom don't think that has ever happened. OR has a ton of 6"4 type kids and the smaller guards from Folsom had issues early on getting good looks over the zone. Forbes had an off night (missed at least 6 foul shouts) but he had a huge dunk and blocked a lot of shots. Game ball goes to #10 (gallegos) who happens to be the smallest player on the floor. Made some huge 3's and played an awesome game. #11and #12 for OR played great games. Amazing HS basketball game.

Doesn't OR Qualify for Norcals if top 4 get called to Open? They could do some damage if lucky enough to get in at D2/3

You know what.... That gets a little interesting. Because I would say Sheldon, CC, and MC all get pulled up. Not sure if the Folsom team I watched last night was an "open" team. They would do well in Norcal D1. What about Jesuit then? They certainly deserve a nod to have season still alive. I would think OR is a very long shot for the last one in d1. But I wouldn't want to play them.

I will say this. Oak Ridge was not the same team of 2-3 weeks ago. They played only 7 people and rod there seniors almost entirely. (which they should have been doing all year). They played a 2-3 zone to near perfection for 3 qtrs of the game. They have a very good soph 6'4 who will be there best player next year. But Jr/Soph class pretty weak. This was there year to make a little noise.

I thought the OR zone threw Folsom off a bit. I was at the game last night and it was instant classic for sure. I felt OR did a great job! What a fun atmosphere last night!

Yeah it was a fun game. Very intense. The zone kept the game close. But Mccan and the small guard starting hitting 3's and it opened up a little. I thought OR got some really bad calls. Kid from OR drove and made a layup late and they called a charge. It was clearly a block and should have been and 1. But the best team came out on top. They will have to play a lot better to beat sheldon and Forbes will need to exert himself more offensively.
