I just wanted to start a thread on the fact that Folsom will most likely win the SFL, going undefeated barring some type of miracle next week against Woodcreek.

After losing so many D1 players last year, many people thought Folsom had no shot of even winning their own league. What they have done this year is truly remarkable and the deserve some recognition. Last night's game truly exemplified who they have been all season.

As always...Go Folsom!

Current State Rank- 9
National Rank- 58

***There is no need for angry posts here. If you don't like Folsom, that is fine. But take it somewhere else. People like "bulldogmgc" hope they lose every week. It is inspiring.

After what I witnessed last night I think they are "under" ranked. Anytime you have a line like that and a defense that is stifling you will be in games. It was impressive to say the least. Not that it matters but the team from Nevada that beat OR (REED) must have been really good. I was curious and looked them up and not surprised they are 10-0.

I was one that didn't expect them to follow up 2014 the way they have. They haven't been flashy, but they've more than got the job done this season. Injuries are always an x-factor and they've been fortunate in that regard. They haven't lost any key players for any length of time.

To me, the biggest reason for the carry over to this season has been their lines. Jake Jeffrey certainly has brought a different dynamic to the QB position and has been good, but the offense doesn't move the ball or score as they did last season. The key has been their ability to control the LOS on both sides of the ball. Returning Jonah Williams has obviously been a big factor in that regard, but others have stepped up too.

Also, I think Drake Stallworth has had a pretty nice impact on the team. He's a heckuva player.

Folsom will be a tough out in the SJS D1 playoffs and has to be considered the favorite going in. I haven't seen many teams that matchup all that well. Elk Grove might be at the top of a very short list.

Reed is likely the 2nd best team in Nevada behind Gorman.

Going 10-0 in Reno doesn't mean all that much. The talent pool isn't very deep. Nevada is a fairly weak State overall. I don't think Reed would break the top 5 in NorCal.

I saw them play Bishop Gorman last season and they did well to hang around for a half, but ended up losing by 42. To be fair, that was one of Gorman's better teams.

Agreed on the level of Nevada football, but Reed and Gorman are both quality teams.

Their line and ability to control the clock has been the difference. They don't need to put up 60 points because they can get up by 14, run the ball, and the game is over before you know it. Not many teams have that luxury.

I have to give credit to the coaching staff for this one. They have done an amazing job with the hand they were dealt, despite losing seven D1 players.

If they go all the way this year....This one will be very special.

I still get a kick out of the "average at best" comments made at the beginning of the year.

Hindsight is 20/20. Historically, you'd be hard pressed to find many teams that have done what Folsom has done this year after losing 19 starters (or whatever the # was) all while playing in one of the better leagues in CA. The key has been their lines. Having excellent coaches doesn't hurt either.

If they keep churning out lines like the ones they've had the past 2 seasons, they'll keep this up.

I have been saying all along that their line and ability to control the clock has been the difference.

Well, if that's the case, then you've certainly been right to this point in time.

I couldn't agree more. As far as the coaching staff goes, winning this season would be a more impressive feat than last. Not to diminish this team, which is obviously very good, but they certainly don't have the same amount of talent as the 2014 team. Winning section (or better) would exceed the vast majority of expectations.

It just goes to show what strength on the lines and excellent coaching can do.

Thanks Thunder! Maybe I'll see you out at a game soon!

Has G61 found a new handle?!

Who knows.

It is a bit curious and telling that this person became a new member yesterday yet just stated "I have been saying all along...."

That's a rather odd thing to say for someone new and likely will cause reasonable suspicion that somebody has gone undercover regardless whether it is true or not.

I'll make this quick...
1. Folsom did a great job last night and will continue to the sections.
2. Regarding Reed. Don't let the "state of Nevada" level of football fool you. Reed is legit.....several D1 commits on that team to UNR, San Diego State, etc. They absolutely would be in the tops in SJS.
3. Oak Ridge rolled through SFL this season (5-1) and lost to eventual 10-0 Folsom. Oak Rodge is 8-2..,with their losses to two opponents with combined 20-0 record.
4. OR and Folsom will be playing again next month.

Although I enjoy G61's posts, I am far from him. Good call though.

I have debated on posting for a long time. I decided it could be fun. Going to give it a shot. There are many of us in the stands at the games that read these forums. Only a fraction post.

Pretty funny that Larry Legend got accused of being G61 this morning too haha

Date of sign up, the disappearance of 61, similar writing, The mention of a sac bee article and "average at best" comment seems really familiar, like I've heard it here before... Circumstantial evidence is against you our new/old friend. A winking or gun firing emoji would be the smoking gun here. Detective Nasty is on the case.

Respectfully, I can't help but to allow it to fool me. Nevada football isn't good. It just isn't. That said, you may end up being right about this Reed team. I'm just not buying it yet. I've seen them this year and wasn't overly impressed. Good team, but not top 5 in NorCal IMO. I think top 10 is a stretch. One game against OR doesn't prove anything.

Bellarmine is a top 5 program and came oh so close to losing to Del Oro - who is nowhere near a top team in the SJS, let alone NorCal. Upsets happen. It could easily be argued that if Del Oro played Reed's schedule, they'd be 9-1. Remember, they only lost to Oak Ridge by 3 and were very competitive in that game. Point being, I'm not so sure the win over OR is a good litmus.

Regarding point #3, it's true that they went 5-1 in the SFL, but it is an overstatement to claim that they "rolled" through. They eeked past 1-4 Woodcreek in double OT (easily could have lost), had one-score wins against both Granite Bay and Del Oro, and took advantage of a injury-plagued Rocklin team. Outside of Granite Bay, they had the least impressive win over winless Nevada Union.

5-1 is 5-1 and 2nd place is 2nd place. They've earned that. But the margin of error has been very thin. Unlike Folsom, who really was only threatened once, they've not proven to be clearly better than most the other teams in the SFL. With the exception of NU, they could easily lose to any of the other teams in a rematch as easily as they won the first time out.

Cough! Cough! Since when did I hope Folsom would lose every week? Coin flips for 2 picks this year against them as my 01 point pick (lowest confidence level) is not a sign I wanted them to lose. You must have me confused with other posters who picked Folsom to lose at higher confidence levels. I used the coin because there was a Folsom fan who stated Folsom was not as good this year and the SFL would be offering their best competition. Like others, I expected the SFL to offer good competition (hence the coin flips). Apparently, the SFL is not as competitive this year, especially the falling level of play by Del Oro. Apparently, you are very angry I called out your late posting of your pick'ems this week which resulted in the lowest score minus 1. Get over it! The Pick'ems are for fun. It is interesting you asked for "no need for angry posts here" but yet you call me out. WTF! Sounds like someone is still angry they looked like an IDIOT on the Pick'em thread. Again, get over it! If you are not G61, maybe your his cousin or neighbor, I guess. In any case, take a chill pill, relax, and enjoy the ride. The playoffs will be fun! I wish nothing but the best for the Folsom team. The Folsom coaches are awesome! The kids who play for Folsom are "kids". Again, relax and get back in your panties! No need to get angry ... just saying. ;)

Have to agree. Attacking bulldogmgc over a couple of coin flips and knowing bulldogmgc used the IGNORE button on G61 (for all of G61's nonsense berating Stockton) is just another circumstance. Please continue with your investigation. I do sense a conspiracy of sorts. Good luck!

I'm gonna call SR PD and tell them Andy is pretending to be someone he's not... On a high school football forum
