Only one game going at a time today, but still need to end the season with a scores thread.

McClymonds-Mater Dei Catholic is up first for the 2-AA title. MDC won the 2-AA state title last year.

Ferrari Miller with an interception on the first play and takes it to the house! Mack leads 6-0 after a blocked PAT

Both teams trade 3 and outs.

Malik Richardson had a TFL for Mack. Tre Edwards (UCLA linebacker commit) had one for Mater Dei Catholic

MDC caps off a 58 yard scoring drive with a 13 yard TD pass. They takea 7-6 lead over McClymonds midway through Q1

Mater Dei Catholic adds a 36 yard FG to take a 10-6 lead Q2.

Mack DL has played well but the offense has seven total yards in their three drives

McClymonds gets a punt blocked but holds MDC to a field goal. 13-6 MDC with 2:13 left in the half

McClymonds picks up a pair of first downs but has a 49 yard field goal blocked to end the half

MDC looks to be controlling the game, moving the ball at will. But only a one possession game. Mack losing at the LOS

Mack’s offensive identity is “We’re bigger, stronger, and faster than you.” This works most of the time… until the opponent is just as big and fast. The passing game is really JV or maybe freshman level for some programs.

The best thing the OAL could do is join the CCS. That section would allow the league to remain intact (unlike the NCS). Mack would finally see competition in the playoffs and the other teams would get real opportunities in the lower divisions.

If not, there is a ceiling above which they’ll never grow.

Why wouldn't the NCS allow the OAL to remain intact? NCS is a natural, logical move. Time to end the "Oakland City Section" and " SF City Section/AAA" foolishness

Because the OAL has approached the NCS and they said they wouldn’t guarantee that the league would stay intact.

Don't really see what breaking up the OAL accomplishes, even if they joined the NCS. I mean, what other league (s) would those schools be put into?

The NCS moves teams around for equity. Since Mack is clearly so much better than the rest, they very well might move them into a more competitive league.

It’s clear, though, that this is a priority for the OAL.

Spartans are tough on the right side with Derek Thompson and Cooper Powers. Spartans into Lincoln territory with 2 mins left Q1

De La Salle's drive stalls on the edge of the red zone and gets its 37 yard field goal blocked.

Lincoln returns it to the Spartans' 48.

If he hits McCoy right there it would have been a big gain….

DLS is in fact doing exactly what they need in order to win and that includes letting Lincoln know they can stop them. The Hornets was already dominating Sierra Canyon (LW) in the 2nd qtr., yet scoreless so far. Spartans need to score first! Go Spartan Nation!!

Bunch of small gainers so far for De La Salle offense. Defense has been very good in forcing three 3&outs.

This is a very good gameplan. Now Veer Charlie aka Fresno Bulldog looking stellar.

Score tied at 7 after a 3 yard TD run from Robinson. 27 seconds left in the half.

A reverse on the kickoff return gives the Spartans the ball at midfield
