From some DLS kid:
One thing I have learned watching these State Championship games. The transfer rules need to change. It’s home grown talent and hard work against a team who recruits the best players from all over Southern California.
It shouldn't stop with DLS. Central of Fresno is all home grown Westside of Fresno talent. Just as Grant is Northside Sac home grown talent. But you have teams like Folsom which import transfers so that they can keep up with programs like Central and Grant. And these two schools have home grown top notch athletic talent every year on their campus. They don't need to search other cities for it. It's apart of their culture. And this is the reason folks from West Fresno and North Sac can be proud of their community. It's all home grown not imported. There's no kid from another city that overshadows the studs on these two teams. That will never be the norm at these two schools like it is at Folsom.From some DLS kid:

Truthhertz: what a stupid response to the original post. Where did that come from?

A friend of mine that used to live in the Bay Area and he moved to North Carolina, so I assume it came from Twitter
I would be shocked if that's the norm for Grant. I've never heard of Grant seeking players from out of Sac boundaries. I know it's not the norm for Central. Central has turned into what Edison used to be. A lot of Westside kids are going to Central because of the new development in that area. Section 8 approved and the new Developmental complexes have the new generation moving there in droves. Back in the 80's through the late 90's Central was in no mans land though it was a part of North/West Fresno. They were a Washington Union wanna-b during that time. Never had athletes because those that didn't want to compete at Edison would bus to WU on the South/West end of Fresno. If all the athletes in West Fresno went to Edison during that time it would have been know as a State powerhouse in football, basketball as well as track. Remember, kids opted to go to other schools even though they were in Edison's school district. I was once in there school district during my pop warner days but eventually move out of it to make a name for myself on the high school level elsewhere. With that being said, in no way am I saying Folsom went recruiting the out of state and local out of boundaries players on this team. All's I'm saying is this isn't something I've witnessed at Central and Grant. And I'm sure these players like what's going on at Folsom in which I arguably believe they have the most attractive program/coaching staff in NorCal at the moment.What a warm fuzzy fictional story that is. You might want to look up a fella named "Chad Elliott".
From a 2011 story in the "The Union" newspaper;
"...Elliott said. “Dad said, ‘If me and your mom were to help you out, where would you want to go?’ Jokingly, I said Grant.”
Elliott’s father got on the phone to celebrated Grant coach Mike Alberghini – and after a 45-minute conversation, Elliott was on his way to Sacramento."
You sound bitter Larry. It's going to be ok. One question though..how does the Socal gap get wider when they only lost by 14 and were down only 7 with minutes left in the game?Its like cycling and track. Everybody is doping. Most aren't getting caught and spend a lot of time and money on cheating the system. Not too much integrity in sports anymore. I guess its not cheating until you get caught. Do I feel bad for DLS? No. They haven't lost in norcal since 1991 and now get some of there own medicine year in and out against scal powers. And the reality is the gap between the next best Norcal teams (Folsom) & DLS is razor thin and getting thinner. The Gap between DLS and SCAL keeps getting wider.
Well you fellas are really going to be upset when Buchanan’s RB transfers to MD and not because anyone recruiting him but because
1.He has friends on the team
2.Theres an opening at Tailback for the back to back MNC
Seriously dude. You don’t get an NCS D1 baseball ‘ship if your boundary is within five miles of Winton. Your college baseball coach wants bulldogs, not poodles. 6’2”, 245. Put on some pads.

I’ll only be upset if he decides to SPIT in the face of an opposing player like the MD back this year.
