G League in Walnut Creek

Interesting... They mention the John Muir Ultimate Fieldhouse as a possible home gym. Does that place even have any stands??

Not sure how it looks in Walnut Creek, but pretty cool the program is being housed in the Bay Area

Just thinking out loud here... St. Mary's isn't far away Maybe the headquarters will be in WC and practices/training at that facility, but home games at SMC. Dunno what the NCAA would think of that, tho... Also, Oracle Arena doesn't have a fulltime tenant anymore, so maybe there... Who knows?

Do you guys actually think this team is going to b playing games in front of fans??? that was never the point of this program, even pre-pandemic. they are primarily a development program for elite prospects, the plan was always to play a select few showcase games most likely at other teams' home gyms or leaguewide events held in one place but mostly they will train/practice and prepare for next year's draft.

At the other teams gym will they allow people to watch? Next year?

Probably no fans allowed and if thats the case I have a hunch where the practices/game will held and it has not been mentioned in any above posts.

Well, the word "exhibition" in this sentence... "The team is expected to have an intensive training program that will include 10-12 exhibitions against G League teams, foreign national teams and NBA academies"

... would lead anyone to believe that there is intent to *exhibit* those games in front of *somebody*... Maybe just NBA scouts, but you'd think they'd love to get $$$ from fans if the pandemic permits.

I think it's still a fluid situation. I recall they originally said it would be LA-based, but maybe that changed when Brian Shaw became the coach. I would assume they need to add more players since only six guys are on the roster.

So, I can confirm that the G league based team out of Walnut Creek is going to be based out of the Ultimate Fieldhouse (saw the floor yesterday). The league has already put in a brand new floor (94 feet) at the facility with logos and sponsorship signs. There is no room for fans on either sideline, but NBA executives and VIPs (Kiddman32 sans Campo gear, lol and others) could sit along one of the baseline. Obviously, anticipation is no fans in the stands.

Players have already been participating in weekly workouts.
