Great tribute to a great coach... Remember this is Gary Porter. You have to get better teams than those listed. Only solid teams are Modesto Christian and St Francis. Where are the De La Salle's, Bishop O'Dowds, Sheldon's, Salesian's, Woodcreek's etc..

A little disrespectful to the teams in the field. Lincoln has Andre Kelly who is one of the better players in California. Christian Brothers has Elias King. Buchanan has entire team back and will be among the top teams in the Central section. West has Michael Hayes and went to NorCals last season. With so many showcases and tournaments these days it isn't as easy as it looks. For a first year event this is a quality field.

Lets get real people. Porter had great players and tons of transfers + international kids every year. I was never impressed with his X and O's. Might be a nice guy but doesn't mean he could coach. Midgley was a far better coach.
As for the teams agree that you have some real talent in that tourney. Elias King is the real deal from CB. Not to many 6"8 kids around like him.

No disrespect at all. None of the teams in your event are top teams in NorCal. CB is a decent team, not sure how they ended up last year but it was not a deep playoff run. Buchanan? West? Have not heard of Hayes. Lincoln has not won a playoff game in 5 years. Porters name alone gets the phone answered.

Solid list for a first year event. Most of those other school's mentioned have their schedules booked pretty far out in advance. Looking forward to the 1st Annual Gary Porter Showcase! And already getting commitments to the 2018 event!
