1. Pinewood (12-0) LW: #1

The Panthers stayed undefeated heading into this Wednesday’s game against Carondelet. Pinewood has held nine of 12 teams to less than 50 points.

2. Mitty (10-2) LW: #2

Mitty added wins over Valley Christian-San Jose (71-28) and Sacramento (81-54) last week. The Monarchs will play No. 3 Salesian on Saturday.

3. Salesian (8-5) LW: #3

Making double digit free throws for a third straight game, Salesian beat Sacred Heart Cathedral 66-60 after leading by 16 points at the end of three quarters.

4. Carondelet (12-2) LW: #4

Carondelet scored a season high 80 points in an 80-53 win over St. Mary’s-Stockton. The Cougars face Pinewood on Wednesday, Granada on Friday and St. Joseph on Saturday.

5. Miramonte (17-2) LW: #5

Miramonte put three players in double figures in a 70-67 win over Chaminade at the Matt Denning Nike Hoops Classic. The Matadors have won nine a row going into Saturday’s game against Folsom.

6. Heritage (10-1) LW: #6

The Patriots have a busy upcoming week with four games, including a trip to St. Mary’s-Stockton on Wednesday and a neutral site game against McClatchy on Saturday.

7. Sacramento (9-6) LW: #7

They don’t have a loss to a Sac-Joaquin Section team with their three NorCal losses coming to Top 4 teams.

8. St. Joseph (10-3) LW: #8

Traveling to Mater Dei, St. Joseph lost to the Monarchs 70-46 on Saturday. The Pilots will face Carondelet on Saturday at the Elite is Earned event at Miramonte High School.

9. St. Mary’s-Stockton (10-4) LW: #9

The Rams lost to Carondelet (80-53) for its second straight loss to North Coast Section competition. They get a rematch with Heritage on Tuesday before playing Bishop Manogue on Saturday.

10. McClatchy (14-2) LW: #10

McClatchy has now won 10 in a row after wins over Kennedy-Sacramento and Oakland. The Lions face Heritage on Saturday at the Elite is Earned event.

11. Sacred Heart Cathedral (6-5) LW: #11

After beating Presentation (60-35), Sacred Heart Cathedral lost to Salesian (66-60). The Fightin’ Irish are 1-3 against Top 20 ranked teams.

12. Bear Creek (12-2) LW: #12

Bear Creek is averaging 70 points per game going into league games against Chavez and Edison-Stockton.

13. Antelope (16-1) LW: #13

Antelope overcame 10 made threes by California and going 2-for-19 itself from beyond the arc to beat the Grizzlies 70-69 in overtime. Sophomore Jzaniya Harriel had 32 points and 22 rebounds.

14. Folsom (13-2) LW: #14

The Bulldogs beat Rocklin (63-34) and West Campus (60-56) coming off a 2-2 trip to Southern California. They face Whitney and Granite Bay before taking on Miramonte on Saturday.

15. Cardinal Newman (12-4) LW: #16

The Cardinals have won five in a row and will play North Bay competition until Bear Creek on January 19 and La Jolla Country Day on January 21.

16. Bishop O’Dowd (5-7) LW: #17

Returning to action this week, the Dragons play Alameda, Piedmont and Sacred Heart Cathedral. Bishop O’Dowd has three losses to Top 10 teams.

17. San Ramon Valley (14-1) LW: #19

Opening up East Bay Athletic League play, San Ramon Valley beat Granada (73-28). Next up for the Wolves is Foothill-Pleasanton and Dougherty Valley.

18. St. Patrick-St. Vincent (15-1) LW: NR

Junior Tameiya Sandler is averaging 19 points, eight rebonds, seven assists and five steals for the Bruins, who have only lost to Salesian this year.

19. Berkeley (13-1) LW: NR

Berkeley has won five straight since its only loss to San Leandro on December 20. Last week, the Yellowjackets beat St. Ignatius 46-37 after leading 34-18 at the end of three quarters.

20. St. Ignatius (11-3) LW: #18

St. Ignatius, with the return of junior guard Diary Khin, beat St. Francis 57-41 in the WCAL opener. However, they dropped a home game to Berkeley to end the week.
