He's headed to Detroit, with draft picks, for Stafford, the new L.A. Rams QB.

Sadly as Belicheck and Brady did to my Rams 20 years ago.... They did 2 years ago.. here we go with another 20 years of being mediocre. 2 first round picks for Stafford?!??! I dont care about Goff but the picks too!!!!

If Stafford is the guy to make the offensive dynamic to pair with that defense, the draft capital loss is less punative.

But that is a big IF.

Hope Jared Goff gets a shot at restarting his career in Detroit.

For longtime NFL history buffs, the L.A. Rams have emptied the personnel cupboard to gain a key offensive star with NorCal roots in the past. In the spring of 1959, they traded seven players and two draft choices to the Chicago Cardinals for standout, multi-talented Ollie Matson (halfback, fullback, defensive back, kick returner). Matson was a USF alum, having played on the Dons' unbeaten 1951 team. At the time of the historic trade, the Rams' GM was Pete Rozelle, the future NFL commissioner and one-time PR man for USF during the post-WWII years.
