I made the drive out to DPH for tonight's quarterfinal matchup. A nice crowd is forming on both sides and I notice a brand new scoreboard that wasn' t here earlier in the season. Getting close to KO. I'll try to provide some updates.

Anybody else out here tonight? You can't ask for a better Fall night.

A short opening KO was muffed by the Pacers and recovered by GB at the 31. The 1st break of the game came awfully quick.

NP my friend.

Pacerds held on 4th and 14. GB made a questionable catch right at the sticks that looked to be out of bounds but they awarded him the catch. They then measured and had the receiver a chain link short.

Pacers take over at their own 21.

The Pacers strike 1st with a 50-yarder to WR #4 Hardy. He made a nice adjustment before his momentum almost carried him out of bounds and juked the trailing DB for the score.

7-0 Pacers.

Grant mishandled a punt in their own territory, but held the Grizzlies on downs.

Grant then drove to the GB 45 and converted a 4th and 5 for 22 yards.

A few plays later, Mike Green looked to be going into the end zone from 8 yards out but fumbled into the end zone just before he crossed the plane.

The Grizzlies took over on the touchback. 2:43 til half.

GB goes 3 and out to start the half.

#4 Hardy zigs and zags and brings the punt return back 60+ for the score.

14-3 Pacers.

GB forced to punt again.

Hardy has an opportunity to go back-to-back but muffed the punt return. He recovered, but had space had he fielded it cleanly.

Hardy now with the long TD hat trick.

On 2nd and 14 he catches an under thrown bomb by coming back to the ball then out running the defense for 65+ yards.

Pacers lead 21-3 w/ 6:35 left in the 3rd

An illegal formation penalty wiped out a 90-yd run by Deshawn Collins down to the GB 5. Pacers are again backed up inside their 5.

Pacers punted from their end zone and drove the Grizzlies back to their own 45.

:15 remaining in the 3rd

First play of the 4th, GB hits a deep pass inside the 5.

2 plays later, #42 scores on a 1 yd run.

Pacers lead 21-10.

After converting 1 3rd down, the Pacer were forced to punt.

GB immediately goes to the air for a 53 yd TD pass.

2-pt conversion no good, though the TE throwback was there. The QB overthrew it.

#12 replaced the starting QB for GB a few series ago and has rallied them.

21-16 Pacers w/ 5:55 to go.

The Pacers just missed on a 3rd and 9 and are kicking to GB again.

The Pacers punter got off another high rocket and got a great forward kick that hit a GB player and was immediately picked up and advanced by Grant.

Pacers begin the drive at the Grizzlies 35.

GB's defense is holding tough against the run.

Pacers facing 4th and 7 from the 32.

4:02 to go.

Pacers got aggressive and threw a deep pass to Hardy along the sideline but it was thrown too far out of bounds.

GB takes over and immediately gets out to midfield on a perfectly executed screen.

Another 10 yd out and they are now inside the 40.

Next play, a perfectly thrown corner pattern for a 39 yd score.

2 pt conversion on a pass over the middle is good.

QB #12 for GB is killing it.

Grizzlies lead 24-21 w/ 2:41 to go

Pacers got the ball near midfield on a short kick.

2 plays later, GB intercepts a deep out at their 35.

Another year of the Pacers under performing. It's dissapointing when you have that much talent. I've attended a few Grant games and always leave questioning their offensive play calling....run off tackle, run inside, long bomb and repeat over and over again. So basic and predictible it drives me nuts. Mike, what will it take for you to change the offense? Is it just me Pacer nation?

Sounds like a good game. Good luck to Pacer nation this off season, there's more than football!

I thought the GrantPacers played an awesome game. Pacer's #4 is a future college player for sure.

I didn't have a chance to post a recap after leaving the game last night, but, make no mistake, the game changed when GB inserted Brad Fina into the lineup at QB.

That kid played phenomenally. For those that aren't aware, he was the starting QB but suffered a shoulder injury early in the season (game 2 against Cosumnes Oaks, I believe) that kept him sidelined most of the season.

Down 21-3 to start the 4th, he made 3 pin-point accurate deep throws that either resulted or led to TD's. Those balls couldn't have been thrown any better.

The Pacers had that game within their grasp and, suddenly, Fina and the Grizzlies defense snatched it.

GB's defense was really good against the run most the night. All of the Pacers scores were off explosive plays either in the pass game or on special teams.

Two plays in particular really hurt the Pacers and prevented them from winning.

First, Mike Green's extra effort to fight and spin to get into the end zone from 8-yards out resulted in a fumble just before he crossed the plane. Football is a game of inches and if that had gone the Pacers way, they likely win.

Secondly, after being pinned inside their 5, DeShawn Collins broke off a 90 yard run that had the Pacers 1st and goal from inside the Grizzlies 5. That play was wiped out by a completely avoidable illegal formation penalty.

Those 2 plays really came back to haunt the Pacers.

That all said, Granite Bay should be commended for the way they stepped up and took the game from the Pacers. They were able to take advantage of most every opportunity they were given, especially in the 4th quarter. Not every team can do that.

HUGE win for GB and the SFL.

Grant is my team. But hats off to GB. They played great last night. If you ask me, I'm buying SFL stock big time.
