I got to watch some of the top teams in the Sac Joaquin section this weekend. Modesto Christian, Capital Christian, Folsom, Sheldon, Grant, all had matchup games. Some of the top seniors missed Saturday morning games due to SAT's. The top recruits all performed as expected and the Section playoffs should be fun to watch.

Folsom did everything they could to stop Sheldon. Sheldon hit 5 or 6 threes and horrible refs made it a close game til the end. MC vs Sheldon, MC vs Folsom, and Folsom vs Sheldon all came down to free throws.

Folsom needs to find a way to control Jared Wall. He plays with a lot of energy and you have to love that about him. But he can cause problems and break momentum with his frustration. Silly technical vs Modesto when they had a 2 point lead. As far as officiating, I've seen better and I've seen worse, nothing to complain about.

How are these teams playing? I was under the impression that you could not play as your high school team right now? Any one know what's up?

Sports...They were/are playing under their AAU team affiliation. Gyms rented, etc. no team in the games played under their HS team name. The schedule was tough to figure out just for that reason... Different sections have different rules regarding blackout periods and practice starting dates. The CIF should make state wide dates to resolve these types of issues.

It was at sheldon guys. No rules on playing. It all goes. They do things different down their. Ha ha…. All kidding aside Wall is a bit of an issue. He's a red headed Rodman. Love his energy and effort but he can be a liability. I guess you take the good with the bad. Can he play at next level? I mean D2-D3.
