This year has been unusual to say the least.

If things go as planned : We have scheduled the GIBT tourney for April 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. 2021. I think we are going to call this one the 20-21 Year.

For the first time in 67 years, the tourney will not be housing players. The teams will be making their own arrangements, for housing, or traveling back and forth from school.
A quick six months from then, we hope to get back to the beginning of December 2021 on the 9th, 10th & 11th.

Here are the teams:

Sheldon – Vanden - DLS - Campolindo .

Oakland Tech - Archbishop Mitty – Salesian – Gridley.

The bracket won’t be out till early in the next year.
We have to figure out a lot of Logistics on this one. Let’s hope it all works out.

Here’s wishing you great hoops

Thanks Marcskit! Mitty replaces Bellarmine and DLS replaces Capitol Christian based on your March post? This is a good looking field.

Excellent field as usual.

Has De La Salle been in the tournament before?

DLS was in the GIBT twice, I think... Two consecutive years in the 80's. I think they won it once.

I'd be much more exact on this if I could find one of my old GIBT programs amongst my stuff packed up from just having moved...

Every year, they have full listing of winners, all-star selections, stats records... Best tourney programs I've ever seen.

I love this event!

p.s. Yes, I have moved, but not out of NorCal. If fans are allowed at games, I'll be there. Not just this event, but everything else I can get to... :)

Did DLS take the place of Dublin in this tournament who actually won the Gridley invitational last year?

Dublin wasn't in the orig. 2020 field as announced in that March post.

Excellent field as usual.

Has De La Salle been in the tournament before?

Streak:

DLS played 5 times from 83' to 87'. Winning four times out of 5.
Not a shock, but they never had a tourney high scorer. They did have 3 MVPs.
87' was the year Eric Bamberger made a big splash there.

Here's wishing you great hoops
