we are so quick to post and comment for days when kids commit crimes, coaches getting fired or a kid transfers. However there are tons of games being played and not one comment about how these same players played this past weekend with their new teams or how the new teams looked with their new transfers.

Time to find true love for the game and not just harp over and over the same top players and teams. NorCal preps you need to get out and report on some of the other kids in NorCal so they can get some shine too. Every week I'm watching young kids develop right before my eyes and then I come on this site and read the same BS.

Come on guys its time to step our posting game up and utilize this outstanding tool to elevate our NorCalPreps scene. "DON'T HATE ELEVATE"

That's weak. People wanna talk about Darius or makai from capital when they get into trouble. But a SFL kid gets into some trouble, "aghhh let's clean up the site".

Lol, you really think fletch wrote all that because theres a supposed issue with an sfl player? The fact is, the threads that get the most attention on here usually are people gossiping and arguing dumb sht. Talking about former hs players getting arrested is pure gossip and is silly no matter what school or area a player is from. And to top it off, nobody produced any evidence to back up the claim made against the woodcreek kid. Thats soccer mom stuff. Leave it off the hardwood.

Hey ballinplayin365, well our agree with most of what you say threads about Darius The kids getting hazed in the hotel, coach is getting fired etc we're long and drawn out.
And they were topics for a long time and still are years later.
There was a thread started about the Woodcreek kid which was taken down by streak.
I have firsthand knowledge about a starter on this year's Woodcreek championship team that was arrested for some serious crimes .
If you dig hard enough in the Sacramento bee you will find it

There are a lot of positive stories out there that we try to tell in articles and on the boards. I know we miss some and the goal is always to shrink that gap.

However, when appropriate, the posting of negative news (coaches being let go, transfers, off court issues) is part of the story.

It isn't right to say, "He's great. He's awesome. He's going to kill it in college," without providing a well rounded picture.

Regarding the Woodcreek story, if it is there provide the link. It is that simple. I haven't found anything (not saying it isn't out there) and that is why it was taken down.

Hi Coach FJ

Here are some thoughts I would share. They are my thoughts, and just that.
I used to be a scout and writer for NCP. Back in the day it was more focused on High School players in general. There was less emphasis on ( DIV 1 ) players and more on teams and players overall. The site had a more personal feel, and I felt it was more in touch with the average fan in general.

There used to be more stories about basketball history, more indepth focus on actual high school teams.
I wrote a few book reports on basketball related novels and short stories. “ When Cuba conquered Kentucky” was just one of them.

( I just might put it back up on the board someday.)

Things changed when this site joined the Rivals network. Unfortunately the emphasis became geared toward being a clearing house for coaches. And a focus toward the top players overall. This is where the site makes it’s bank and that’s understandable.
Unfortunately some things were lost in the process.

I will say historically the boards are vastly improved as far as flames go. Trust me when I say the rant’s back then would light a fire under many asses.
Some were historically funny, crazy, and historically crazy, to boot.
Where o Where is Amber Lyn, And the Ingresh Teecher.

Here’s wishing you great hoops
