How many know much about the Delano HS football brawl?

Saw a video online of the North Monterey County and Gonzales post game brawl from last night.

What is going on here? Lack of discipline? Or are the head coaches to blame?

I’ve heard nothing but positive things about both head coaches. Both are rebuilding programs and have been doing a great job. I don’t think brawls are something any coach encourages. Blaming men who devote their time to help better their players on and off the field is irresponsible. Both teams will grow from this unfortunate event.

Was their also a brawl in some game in the Elk Grove area? I heard a player beat an opposing player and the referee senseless with a helmet.

Totally normal for a 16-17 year old kid to take a helmet and strike an opposing player in the head. Pretty sure that constitutes Assault with a deadly weapon. The player will not be able to compete in another high school game. He also injured an official which is a separate infraction with consequences of being suspended a year or more. Very selfish act putting yourself before your team.
