I think many people are putting Heritage and Carondelet automatically in the Championship. But I think Heritage vs Mt. Eden could be a pretty good game. And of course I don't think Carondelet should overlook American or anyone else. Any thoughts?

i think Castro Valley would have beaten Heritage and California had a chance against them. Unfortunately they are both on topside of bracket and i don't think anybody on bottom side will give them much of a game including Mt. Eden but I could be wrong because i haven't seen Logan or Berkeley this year.

heritage won 50-47. great girls game. Abby Muse was incredible. may have had a triple double. if she had 10 blocks she had a triple double. Freshman with over 20 points, 10 rebounds and possibly 10 blocks. she was very poised, way beyond her years

Saw the game as well, Abby was the difference for sure. Heritage was cold from the outside, usually a good outside shooting team, but Abby was killing Mt eden on the offensive glass, and scoring off post moves in the paint.

Muse had a great game, as did #24 Sweeney for the Patriots. #14 Jackson for Mt. Eden was also super and may have been the best player on the floor as they gave Heritage all they could handle. Great game.

Yeah I had a feeling that one wasn't going to be a cake walk. I knew that might be the toughest game Heritage faced before the Championship. I know they still have to get by Berkeley which I think will be style wise an easier game for Heritage than Mt. Eden was. But Berkeley has been playing well so it should make for an interesting game.

Without knowing much about this year's Berkeley or Heritage teams, I'll "place my bet" on Berkeley. I'm not sure how they do it year after year, but they always seem to play their best during the playoffs.

I could see the game going either way. Berkeley will have to keep the turnovers down and slow down Jordan Sweeney. It also sounds like being accountable for Muse inside will need to be a priority. I'm not sure who the go to key players are on Berkeley, but they will need to play well. Heritage will need to have scouted and prepared for Berkeley as well if they are to win. I don't know much about Berkeley this year either. But they are known for bringing a good effort. As I said, it should be an interesting game. A game either team could win.

CamAca,

What is your take on Castro Valley's chances of going into Carondelet and pulling the upset?

Others can chime in as well with their thoughts.

Castro Valley's problem, from what I've seen, is inconsistent scoring. They're physical, athletic and have decent size, but on some nights, they just can't make shots. If Wednesday is one of those nights, Carondelet should have no trouble; but if the outside shots fall for CV, it could be a very interesting game.

Yeah just have to see, as each game like people have their own personalities. Do you know where and when the championship game is played? I think it is at St. Mary's college on perhaps Friday or Saturday?

Haven't seen Carondelet play this year but have last year and know how most of the starters play from seeing them in various venues. I think Carondelet is much more talented at all levels but I see a toughness/scrapiness in CV that I believe would have allowed them to beat any other team but Carondelet including Heritage. I saw Clay's comment below and agree, they do struggle with putting the ball in the hole consistently so all in all I (like everybody else i am guessing) think Carondelet will win and I doubt they will struggle doing it.
