I'd love to see proof of that $400k.6 figures at the big budget programs. Cronin from Newman was offered a lucrative deal at Servite. I'm convinced Gary Mcnight at Mater Dei makes 400k+ a year. Heard a lot of people close to that program say its big, big money….
Very sound journalism: we didn't see any of the private school coaches pay for football, but we "heard" they get paid "handsomely". The two jokers, I mean "journalists" then further the completely unproven slant by claiming the privates are the "haves" and the publics the "have nots"..... Even tho they have zero proof of a discrepancy.
Journalism ain't what it used to be.
Wow... That was a cool article. Someone finally almost did some real reporting on high school athletics in the Bay Area. Maybe next time they will start doing reporting on the differences in athletic department budgets and the disadvantage between top public schools and top private schools.
transparentcalifornia.com.........type in the coaches name if he is public....it is public info....
Holy crap, is Mark Krail really getting paid over $100k in just salary?
That actually proves my point. Which is why the OAL stayed OAL instead of joining the NCS. Which was the correct decision in my opinion because they are at a competetive disadvantage with the top NCS programs. If we want to go down that road ..................
maybe "they will start reporting on the differences in athletic department, art department, textbook availability, facility comparisons, security expenses, lunch & nutrition offerings, etc, etc between the highest income based public schools and the lowest income based public schools. Let's say a look at McClymonds-Oakland versus Campolinda-Orinda or Richmond HS versus Monte Vista-Danville. Sure there is a wealth of investigation all around the Bay.
Then they/we can really start a discussion "on the disadvantages between......."
Hatch, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High District pays all teachers well in comparison to other local school districts. He has over 20 years in as a teacher so it is not surprising nor out of range for the other teachers at those two High Schools.Holy crap, is Mark Krail really getting paid over $100k in just salary?

Having worked in both sectors, private school athletics pay less than public schools. Competitive wages and public record dictate a standard rate of pay. The point that private schools do not have to disclose their wages is due to the fact that pay rate is far below the pay scale of public school coaches, just like teachers' wages. As for athletic budgets, private schools athletic budgets are funded by donations from parents and alumni. If public schools would like to increase their budgets, then alumni and parents should donate to their respective athletic programs. Less crying about the "haves and have nots", more action. I notice a lot of animosity toward private/religious institutions on these message boards.

When I hear all the talk about teachers being underpaid I was under the impression they were making $60-70k/year.
