HMB vs West Campus

Great job by Coach Fred Wilson and his group, to go in a hostile environment and win this game and earn a trip to the norcal final. Schools had better step up their schedules and stop scheduling cream puffs for 25+wins. West Campus played Capital twice, SPSV twice. And had some big time scrimmages. They went into this game tested.

Agree with the scheduling arguement for preseason, but HMB plays in a TERRIBLE league so that adds to their victory total year in and year out. You can't change who you play in League, therefore records tend to be bloated.

HMB defeated Menlo-Atherton twice (MA is in the NorCal D1 finals) and split with NorCal Semiinalist Bellarmine. They defeated Palma twice (one loss) which will be playing West Campus. HMB was also missing a starter out due to injury who had to sit out until Saturday

No doubt West Campus is a quality team.Should be a good game in the finals with Palma. Palma defeated WC last year in NorCals first round. Both teams are better than they were last season so should be a good matchup. Palma also missing a starter last few weeks but has had a few games to adjust and seems to be playing good ball right now.

Did you just say a scrimmage prepared them for March? They played Capital, a team revenged by injuries, and SPSV ONCE BEFORE playoffs started. I'll still give Capital. That's 3 games!
On that same juggernaut schedule, there was The Bay School, Venture Academy, Lick, Marysville, Dixon.
They're having a great year and deserve credit but please don't tout their tough schedule of 6.6 which was bolstered by their playoff run.
Every D4 team should send a fruit basket to the CIF for putting Salesian in the open division. They would have steam-rolled this very unimpressive field. Keep in mind I was an SPSV believer all year (boy was I wrong) and still think they'll be a force next year.
