They have the centerpiece in 6'10 Jordan Brown (Tim Duncan 2.0), top 5 sophomore in the nation. They have 6'6 and 6'4 x-fer's from Australia and China who can both ball. Also another back court x-fer. They have a few solid back court players returning as well who could surprise some people this yr. If the coaching staff does their job this team should represent the north in the state title game.

@131Pressman,

That is a bit ambitious. Woodcreek isn't a top 3 team in Sacramento. How do u expect them to represent the north in the state title game?? Maybe next year, but not this year. They are a good team that is probably top 5 in Sac and maybe top 15 in Norcal when it's all said and done. They have no chance at the open division.

Fair enough, it will take time to get at top form with so many new players. I will stick with my pick. Who do you like and why?

Jordan Brown is a great young player!! If he had better guards it would be scary..

Woodcreek will be fine in the long run as will many of the teams that played down at Newark. Don't put too much emphasis on games before December. Most of these teams have had limited practice and some will only improve as football players start to come off the gridiron and into there own. Look at woodcreek at the end of last season. Not exactly the team many of us watched early on.

Was finally able to see them in person this yr today. Brown looks more explosive this yr, he is finishing harder at the rim. His mid-range, footwork is what separates him from every big in the country. He needs to continue to get stronger. The guards have enough to get job done and more, there is talent in the backcourt but will HAVE TO BE COACHED UP, would like to see them drive and attack rim more instead of just toss up 3's all game. The team looks great in transition. On defensive side the COACHES will have to demand much MORE intensity. The key to the season and how far they go will depend on how much they develope the x-fer from Australia, he is 6'6 can put the ball down and attack rim and has skill, and touch to his shot, Woodcreek will go as far as they develope this kid.
