Latin was dropped my freshman year in high school. I wish I had had it. Took a lot of science courses in college and Latin would have helped me. Took French in High School and German in college and never once met a French person or German person in West Virginia. Sure met a lot of biological and chemical terms that Latin would have helped me figure ot.The fact that I took Latin tells just how old I am ... I don't think they offer it much any more. (But I do recall some schools having it, and athletes would use it as an excuse to transfer. They were absolutely committed to studying Latin, which wasn't offered at their high school, so they would transfer. Oh, and incidentally be a star on the football team.)
