I am in Moraga to watch my Cougs play!

Opponent is Vanden, a very good team that has had a bit of a rough start against a strong schedule…. They are 3-3.

The Cougs are 5-1, coming off a Gridley finals loss to Salesian.

Right now, the Cougs frosh are walloping Vanden 40-12 at the half.

I can’t imagine this Cougs JV team losing many games at all this year…. They are deep, skilled, have some size, all that.

It was a little bit of a troll statement to get reaction and response . It’s obvious they lost to Salesian by 15. I said COULD BE but you obviously can’t read .

Campo has much less of a margin for error this year…. Everyone on the team has to have at least a “pretty good” night shooting, stay out of foul trouble, etc.

Also, if a star on the other team has a GREAT night like Tyler Thompson did tonight, the Cougs may not win unless they play exceptionally well themselves. The Cougs did just that in the first half, but couldn’t sustain that in the 2nd half, partly due to terrific D played by Vanden, the Cougs not able to find a hot shooter in the 2nd half, and Thompson flat-out GOING OFF.

I love the program. I was a huge Mahaney fan and not surprised what he’s doing at st marys and look forward to what carter will do ar Chico. This years team is a great Hs team on all accounts and will have a lot of success. In my opinion they are not a top 5 norcal team. I think the best team will run thru the WCAL in 2022-23 with SJS teams like Folsom and Jesuit right there.

Thompson is a flat out stud….. off the top of my head he’s probably the top junior in NorCal unless I am forgetting someone.
