Being reported that 2017 stud power forward Ira Lee has left Sierra Canyon and will enroll at Justin Siena and play for Prolific Prep... Lee has Norcal ties already as he's played for the Oakland Soldiers the last couple summers...

Interesting this happens the day after Bagley transfers into Sierra Canyon.. although I doubt Bagley ever gets cleared by CIF (no chance this year)...

There are different worlds of prep basketball. This transfer exchange has been crazy to follow IN-SEASON

Twitter legend. Don't be surprised if Bagley plays even this year. If he moved theres a chance. Remember he's coming from Arizona. Not a Cali to Cali transfer

Not that it means anything but Marvin Bagley is on the Sierra Canyon Max preps roster already

Ira Lee is already off the roster too. Ira's father is from San Francisco

So do these kids board at JS or are there parents moving? Who picks up the 15k tuition? Its a sad state if you ask me. That 1% is very small.

Legend- I believe all the prolific players live with host families. There may be a few on campus but not many if any.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I like what PP is doing. They have created a system where kids can receive a top notch HS education at JS, while also preparing them for high level college basketball. The Kids/Families are coming voluntarily. They travel and play against the best competition in the country. WHAT'S THE HARM IN THAT?

An aspect that is interesting to me is that these high performance schools/teams seem to operate in their eco system, evidenced by the way a number of families just played musical chairs from one high performance situation to another. JD I agree with you that PP and similar are providing for a need. Now that I'm becoming educated I'm just trying to figure out how this circumstance relates to kids and education. I've begun to land on the kristi yamaguchi example, where in her day and age she focused on her sport and attended a high school that permitted her to do a lot of independent study. I think the PP model is better than that because the young men are integrated into a school system somehow and get some of the social benefit of being in that setting. I'd like to hear more about this from others who have experience with it.
