JAMBOREE at CN sat 11/19

If anybody is in the North Bay tomorrow and wants to catch some good preseason scrimmage action stop in at the Cardinal Newman HS gym starting at 12:30.

Every 30 mins a new game with the last game (CN vs Folsom) going at 4pm

Folsom was everything advertised... 9?10? deep... great ball movement, find the open man, finished strong and hit their open shots.

I was REALLY impressed with Piedmont. They are legit. We all know about their 2 studs Zamora and Levingston but they also have 2 small guards who are very good and one of them (Martinez) is a knock down shooter. They are D4??? Damn shame they won't be in the NCS open...they'd have a shot...now they will win D4 EASILY...and end up a 10 seed in norcal D1.

Vanden is what I thought they'd be... strong and athletic. Solid.

CN needs to get tougher... lost a last second shot to Vanden. 8 pts to Folsom (I think may have been 10) and 10 to Piedmont. Never really felt like they were going to win vs Pied or Folsom but felt like they should have beat Vanden.

Branson has 2 good guards..should compete with Marin Catholic for MCAL title.

Piedmont is NorCal open good.

I like Piedmont a lot this year, but just remember they lost NCS D4 last year to Marin Catholic, got the top seed in D2 and lost in the quarters I think. They return a lot, but it is a big jump from that to NorCal Open

Did Levingston play last year? I think they are a tier above Salesian and BOD . Will be fun to watch that play out.

Good call Levingston did not play last year. Either did their other transfers. This version of Piedmont is a completely different animal compared to last season. They are the best team in NCS.

All of those teams minus Folsom and Branson attended the scrimmage jamboree hosted at Pinole Valley. Piedmont looked good against the teams there as well.

I can't argue this, PIEDMONT is definitely in that conversation but I haven't seen CLET play yet either. But suffice to say PIEDMONT looks very good.

Its great to see Piedmont back near the top. IMO Bryan Gardere is one of the best coaches in the bay. Good luck to them this season
