John Anderson Division TOC

Since Flo Hoops is doing the Mesquite games these are the non Mesquite games?

Flo Hoops doing Mesquite HS games...
flohoops.com $20 for the month(so the whole tournament) sign up and cancel
Friday so you only get charged the $20.

Also http://allballscouts.com/nike-toc/
doing Non Mesquite games ...like $15 a day or $10 a game....btw this is how you can see Poly and Clovis West because they are not playing at Mesquite HS

thanks.. I guess Mitty better win, otherwise it'll be the only game I see them play.. and maybe I'll save the money and bank on Poly and CW winning also so they play at Mesquite..

So Carondelets game will be on flohoops.com ? The game is on mesq 1 court even though they are not in top bracket?

Yes, Carondelet playing Brentwood Academy next up on Flohoops. Teams are warming up.

Jazzpt55-- Does the charged by the month mean 30 days or each individual month, like say the month of December.. It wouldn't make sense to sign up on the 30th and then only have the last two days of the month. I am thinking of signing up because they have games archived.Wanted to make sure there were enough Cal games being played to make it worth my while. I don't mind seeing them as replays.

Mitty got thumped by St. John's College, which lost to Clovis West.

Miramonte finished a seven-game-in-eight-day stretch with a 48-46 win over Cactus Shadows of Arizona.

SMS vs. Grandview right now.

What are the reasons for Mitty's struggles? Sluggish with the travel?

It looked like both Mitty and Salesian have had hangovers since the travel to Hawaii. But Clovis West took the same trip and just appears to be a bit hungrier. Congratulations to Clovis West.

Not to mention I have always said any good team can beat another good team. Mitty didn't lose to a bad team. Neither has Salesian. That's why you have to do more than just show up or win on paper. That's why they play the game.

Missing Garza for the last three games was crucial. Not only was her absence important, it forced more minutes on other players, and fatigue is a huge issue when you play four games in four days at that level of competition.

But still, Mitty's lack of quickness at the point guard position (Heleyna Hill is still recovering from a stress fracture and isn't quite 100%), and the fact that Aisha Sheppard hit seven threes for St. John's College made a difference. (Note that in Mitty's over Clovis, the Mitty guard made eight threes -- such hot streaks can make a difference.)

I was unaware of the injuries which unfortunately do happen. And no doubt mental and physical fatigue can set in when playing tough games for four straight days. I saw that in the Clovis West tournament when it ended with the two toughest games being played back to back on the same day just a few hours apart. I have been trying to get folks who have been so in love with the 3 ball to realize it's a 40% shot at best overall. The best 3 point shooters in the world play for the Warriors and we have seen them all go ice cold. You need to develop other players and other areas of your game to increase your odds of success. Not only that but it will make you much harder to game plan for. But the stubborn coaches ego will many times not allow it to consider developing areas and players that need to be improved. Instead these very same average coaches will justify what they are doing works when they beat a team they were suppose to beat by 20 in the first game and 40 in the rematch. I don't credit improvement by playing well against a team you should beat in the first place. I value coaches more when they develop players and other areas on the team to make the team better overall. Thus increasing their chances to beat a team they are not suppose to beat based on everything leading up to that point.

It will be interesting to see adjustments that teams make to defend CW's dribble drive offense. Mitty had success because of their length and believe it or not quickness. Their defensive game plan worked in making things difficult for CW. CW has the five seniors that are very in sync with one another and still hit 13 three's on 44 attempts. Mitty broke their press pretty well and Clovis didn't really have a matchup for Haley Jones in the second half and OT. I hope they play again because it makes for a very entertaining fast pace game.

Developing post players takes more than just time in the gym -- it takes a beginning physical package (size, strength and preferably both) that is not all that common.

I would also say that it's easier to defend against a post-oriented attack because without guards, the posts can't get the ball, so superior quickness on the perimeter can negate a lot of inside players.

Still, if there's a post on your roster who has worked hard on her inside game prior to arriving at your high school -- and continues to do so outside of your practices -- then you would be foolish not to use her.
