Keith Larsen has been let go at Menlo

You have got to be kidding me coach Larsen could flat out coach he never had top notch talent but he made it work really well at Menlo with what he had. Hope that kinder
Gentler coach works out for them. Parents let your sons/daughters be coached it just might help them on and
Off the court.

last line says it all. i couldnt imagine my father stepping to my high school coach and questioning him. parents now a days smh

I met Keith a couple of times and played golf with him once. Good guy. Unfortunate to read this.

Ive seen both Menlo and Aragon play a bunch over the last couple of years. Aragon was consistently one of the worst basketball programs I saw. Have no idea how someone would take their head coach, over the one they currently had at Menlo.

To fire the Coach because some of his players couldn't handle his style of coaching is just so 2021.

Batory only had one year at Aragon and barely had a chance to implement his system. He understands what it takes to build a successful program and will be able to do so over time. Even when they got spanked by St. Francis in the playoffs, I really liked what he had to say about how programs are built and what separates a team like Aragon from a team like St. Francis. He's also very well-liked by his players and other coaches.

By all accounts, coaching at Menlo is not the same as coaching at Aragon. A combination of very high parental expectations, high tuition ($50,000-plus) and a state-caliber small-school reputation makes Menlo a different duck altogether.

Unfortunately this is not new and not just 2021. It happened to HMB and coach Forslund, Coach Jeff Dowd at Burlingame, Coach Darrell Barbour at Sacred Heart, coach Chris Lavdiotis at Piedmont and this is just to name a few in the past several years. ALL of these coaches had a very good resume as well with their respective teams! The parents are really doing a disservice to these athletes.
