Kiddman, do you take requests? Of course after your recovery.

I'm not in the area anymore, and I am fascinated by perennially unsuccessful teams. Ygnacio Valley's start is intriguing - would you go visit your alma mater to see if they're the real deal?

YV is not my alma mater... What ever made you think that?

I went to Regular Baptist HS (which is now Berean Christian). Loved the school, hated the religious BS.

Anyway, YV is on my list of teams to check out should I get the chance... But it'll be a challenge to squeeze YV into my super-busy game slate.

i meant, your alma mater plays in same league, asking you to visit your alma mater vs YV

sorry, that was confusing - YV and BC are league opponents, i meant YV vs your alma mater since you'll get two shots to get to it

I spotted a game to go see, may do it, may not. It will not involve BC.

That game is the same day as a Campo game... Nope on that one...

Looked at their sked otherwise, looks like they play the same date as Campo or other games I already have marked in my calendar every time...

btw, the YV game I've picked out, I may not be able to do anyway... I am my brother's driver for a medical procedure he has to do... Don't know how long Ill need to stick around after, etc.

I watched Ygnacio Valley play tonight at Dublin. At pregame warmups your eyes go directly to the tally skinny white guy. A quick look at MaxPreps shows he’s 6’10” junior Evan McNight. He can’t be more than 200 lbs.

YV doesn’t have anyone else over 6’3”, but they’ve got a good collection of athletes and can run the floor well. 6’3” sophomore Antonio Kellogg is their leading scorer at 14 ppg, but they’ve got a balanced scoring attack with several players over 10 ppg.

Dublin took the early lead and was up by double digits a lot of the game, but the Warriors kept coming back and made a game of it. McNight doesn’t factor into the offense much (I’m sure Dublin’s game plan was to keep it away from him), but he gets a lot of boards and defensively he alters a lot of shots. Would be interesting to see him play against Granada’s big 6’11” McKeever. McNight needs to put on some weight, and had a nagging back/hip injury that took him out of the game a few times, but he’s just a junior.

YV was well coached and came back to within 4 in the final 2 minutes, but couldn’t get closer and ended up losing 58-48. They are division 4 and will be a handful for any team they play. They’re currently ranked third in NCS D4 behind just Justin Sienna & University. They hung right with Dublin impressively tonight and that should be their toughest test until the postseason.

I just checked up on Ygnacio Valley, and they really struggled since that Dublin game. They’ve lost to Alhambra, Benicia & McClymonds, and only beat a terrible Concord team.
It appears that back/hip injury to McNight may have gotten worse, as he hasn’t been showing up in the box scores lately, except the Alhambra game where he just had 2 pts and and must have come out in the first quarter. Hopefully for their sake he gets healthy before the playoffs, because they are very pedestrian without him.

I saw Athenian blast Concord back in November….

Solid team, especially, when the opponent keeps passing you the ball…. Athenian led 33-4 at the ha;f in that mess.

p.s. I only went to that game because I live about 200 yards away from CHS…. and my three older brothers went there, so what the heck…
