In Case you missed it Guys...

One of The only Organizations that ACTUALLY won in Vegas was The Nor Cal Pharaohs . The 16u Team took the Championship home in the Silver Division, and the 17u Blue team took home the trophy in the Bronze Division....Shout out to all the Norcal Teams That made it to the Championships (trust me there wasn't many)

I've said this before, you have 300 coaches watching a few choice games, in order to land that "Big Fish" but there are so many other Kids out here working hard, and deserve a chance to excel as a student-athlete....but that's none of my business

Congrats to the Pharaohs organization on a job well done!

First, not to take away anything from the Pharaohs, but those brackets aren't exactly filled with great competition. I think the LV Classic is the best tournament in Vegas, but win the platinum or gold brackets and u have something to write about. I'm not hatin, I'm just sayin.

Have to agree with Amttbo. My son's team participated in the Big Foot Las Vegas Live the previous week but stumbled in pool play then came back to win the Gold Championship rather easily. That being said the level of competition between the 14U Gold and Platinum divisions was pretty significant with the LV Classic having an even deeper, stronger pool of teams at least at the 14U level of which I am most familiar.

The NoCal / Bay Area class of 2020 is pretty strong with a number of super talented kids who'll leave their mark on high school basketball this coming winter.

Winning and losing in Las Vegas is irrelevant. Its a "Viewing Period". Coaches don't recruit teams or AAU coaches they recruit players. College coaches could care less who wins or loses those meaningless games. They are only there to watch the players they have on their recruiting radar.

True, however as I said before,Coaches want to only see select games, or select teams. You have 75 Coaches at 1 game, knowing that you don't Have a snowballs chance in hell to recruit ANY of those players to your program. Yet you can get that 2 star or 3 star to take a serious look. Listen, I understand the politics of the game, but its just a shame that so many times you see Danny Q over here working his butt off trying to get noticed, and just because he doesn't play in the OPEN or ELITE division, he gets pushed to the side.
My 2 cents.

Yeah, but if Danny Q is a player and he's working his tail off and he's played at some smaller events prior to going to Vegas; then he or his coach should have made contacts with some schools prior to going to Vegas and should reach out to get them to stop in and see him in Vegas. you don't leave home headed to Vegas with out already knowing at least one coach is going to try to see you play.

For NorCal kids I think the Gerry Freitas Hoops Review events are ideal to get kids started on the circuit.

NSBasketball why not just tell us how you really feel about games that are played in Vegas...

Good point FJ, it's hilarious how some guys start off playing in "so called low level viewing tournaments and by July they are big time. A few years ago Gerry Freitas had Dejounte Murray, Zach LAvine, and Marquise Chriss playing in same tournament. The only major d1 school in gym was a Washington assistant. They got 2 of the 3.
